The Maritim Hotel Bonn is located centrally, between Bonn and Bad Godesberg, in the heart of the bustling business centre of the city. In this central location, it is within easy reach of the airport, railway station and the autobahn. The nearby recreation area of the "Rheinaue" is just a stone's throw away along the walking and jogging tracks. The establishment is the ideal place for business travellers and conference guests. Those who want to travel through the city appreciate the short routes to the Museum Mile and the many places of sightseeing interest. The rooms with ample space include free Wi-Fit and a flatscreen TV. At the Brasserie Café, tasteful snacks and delicious burgers can be enjoyed.

The hotel is huge with an amazing conference space.

The staff is very helpful as we has a small issue. But they resolved it and threw in a few extras .

The breakfast is amazing, spend the extra for it as its worth it.

There was an event( NFC MMA ) at the hotel so it was super packed.

Try for rooms on the 5th or 6th floor looking from the front of the hotel.

There is asmall pool which is ideal , however the sauna is the one that makes it relaxing, beware that swimsuits are nit allowed in German sauna, so you just go in your birthday suit

I am very surprised at the previous review because I was there for the same convention. I also only speak English, but I did not have any trouble with the hotel staff, from the registration desk, to the wait staff, to the maid who entered my room early one morning when I forgot to put the sign on the door. They were all very helpful, and understood and responded to the English and German I attempted for the full four days I was a guest. This larger hotel was definitely busy during the convention, and at times, it was difficult to find a clean table during breakfast. However, I ate very well at this hotel because the breakfast buffet is enormous and is included with your rate. Pastries, breads, at least 5 kinds of cereals with different add-ins, yogurts, cold cuts, lox, herring, bacon, eggs, meatballs, and more. The beverages (juices, milk, tea, coffee) were available as self-service within the buffet area itself. I can't imagine anyone going hungry after this feast. The rooms were very comfortable, nicely appointed, and have those lovely fluffy European comforters. Our standard room included a mini-bar. I will be staying there again in October and am happy to do so.

The Maritim- home to so many climate change conferences that it induces Stockholm Syndrome in regular visitors- check out our Facebook group... Great place for a 'back to the 80s' convention.

The good: Great buffet breakfast (wide choice of German breads, cold cuts, wurst, herrings, hot stuff, pastries, fruit...). Room service breakfast good. Excellent, if pricey, cocktails (some of the best Caipirinhas anywhere) and good beer. Same building as the conference halls, so you can nap between all-night meetings.

The bad: Large, but dark rooms (90 % have only one small window). Small swimming pool with surreal fresco of a woman in a dressing gown and a naked child. More nudity in the mixed sauna- not for the faint hearted. Lousy unchanging limited room service menu (except breakfast which is good). Inadequate staff number who seem surprised that the hotel fills up during conferences with guests who actually want to order food. The key cards (which also operate the lifts) never work for more than 48 hours.

The ugly: The curtains haven't changed in 2 decades (one colleague who stays in the same room each stay counts the increasing number of moth holes - like the night sky.) Some rooms are directly over the power lines of the tram track that runs under the hotel. Internet a whopping 15 Euros noon-noon. Mile-long corridors like something out of The Shining.

Survival tips:
- Insist on a 6th floor room with a balcony (20 EUR extra), or a part-suite with large windows, or stay somewhere else.
- Subscribe to t-mobile wifi (29 EUR for a month compared with the Maritim's wired 15 EUR per day) - may not be accessible without a balcony room- check your coverage where you intend to use it!
- Room service breakfast is good value if you specify what you want, and is served until 1300
- Get outdoors- run in the Park, walk along the Rhein, hire a bike (from the hauptbahnhof), take a train to Cologne
- Always eat out: there are good restaurants nearby including Tao (fusion- 5 mins walk), Jasmin (Chinese- 5 mins walk), Rohmuehle (15 mins by taxi- great terrace on the Rhein, and jazz), the fancy Italian in the Koenighof Hotel (15 mins by taxi), Bastei (30 mins walk along the Rhein or 10 mins by taxi), and many great places in Bad Godesberg.
- Avoid the sauna unless you're comfortable with mixed sex nudity.
- The Piano Bar - dodgy 80's music, but everyone who's anyone passes through.

The Hotel has in these times no restaurant facilities and offers max 4 small fatty burger or pizza dishes in the Brasserie, with the argument it is Corona.time. So no healthy food during Corona? You are kidding, same for the room service. Hotel makes no attempts to spoil or support its guests with basics. In addition, the Internet speed is very slow and you need to by with Telekom faster speed. This hotel is not to recommend, overpriced and turn a good day into a sad evening.

Super hotel all furnished to a very high standard and with a good pool and Spa.
This is the second time we have stayed here and it did not disappoint . Thankfully the A/C works well in the rooms as it was the hottest day of the year. Restaurant is good and the menu varied.. We travelled with a group of about 25 car enthusiasts and found parking outside is free and safe . Parking under the hotel is expensive.
Would recommend this hotel if staying in Bonn as is situated in the quite part of town and the rooms and beds are super.

We're here in Germany for 3 weeks and have been in this hotel just 1 full day today. Thus far our experience here has been fantastic and we'd come back here in a heartbeat, for several reasons: We speak very little German (from a German's perspective that would be barely any) and the staff here have been extremely accomodating in either being fluent in English or finding another staff member to meet our needs if they don't understand us, the hotel is absolutely beautiful; clean and updated, they take security very seriously - this has been the ONLY hotel we've stayed at that uses electric key cards not only for entrance to rooms or suites but also have to be used to enter a floor number on the elevator...no drunks wandering around your hotel hallway wondering if your room is their's (as a quick note, several hotels throughout this area of Germany use the very old fashioned large key on a ring, ugh). The Rhine is less than a 15 minute walk from the hotel in the most beautiful park (with several playgrounds for those that travel with children as we do) I've seen anywhere in the world with the absolutely neatest playground equipment...the staff quite gladly will point the direction, the food is excellent - absolutely beyond reproach is the best way for us to describe the restaurants. The food selection is perfect for those that enjoy the finest of choices and selections and yet are perfectly capable of meeting the needs of those with simpler tastes (as our 9 year old daughter can attest) and much to our relief after 3 weeks of wursts and schnitzels and oh yes, italian, italian, italian, we were ready for some serious choices - the restaurants made our day! We just can't quite figure out why with shops, a spa, pool, beautiful updated hotel (with a/c!) this hotel in Bonn, Germany is not at least 4 stars.

The Maritim does not cater for English guests. I was there for a convention and my German is very limited. I try but i am not fluent. It seems as though if you are not German you are ignored. The food was terrible, we could not get a table in the restaurant despite being guests, we waited 30 minutes for a table to be cleared, despite three requests (one with the manager). We ended up leaving without dinner. We stayed two nights for dinner and three breakfasts. Breakfast was also a shamble. Two mornings in a row we could not get tea or coffee as the waitress ignored us, despite ordering in English and German. In three days I ate 3 bread rolls, some cheese and a small plate of pasta. We ordered wine in a carafe, yet somehow a carafe was only 175ml as when we asked for the rest of the wine (we had one small glass) we were going to be charged again, even though we ordered a carafe each. I may not be a "wine buff" but I know a carafe is more than one glass. The rooms were nice and very well maintained. the hotel beautiful inside.
But due to a convention taking place the whole place was chaos. If the hotel cannot cope with that amount of guests they should not hold a convention.I spoke to 4 people to get a table for dinner as no one spoke any English, and when you ask " do you speak english" the answer I got was NO, and the waiter walked away. No attempt was made to find an English speaking waiter or manager. We complained at reception and found no one spoke enough English there to handle a complaint. My german is not good and I will freely admit this, so I did try to explain in German, but I am not fluent and could not explain properly. All in all we had a pretty miserable time (the actual convention was great) but we would not go back. Two good things happened on this break to Bonn, We had a great convention and I lost a stone in weight. So thank you to Maritim Bonn, you have assisted my christmas diet!

We stayed for three nights in June.
The good: Some of the locals claim that this is the nicest hotel in Bonn. It is very nicely decorated, modern, and very clean. The breakfast buffet is very good and the train is located just outside.
The bad: It is located far away from everything and the train does not always go to that station at night. Plus, taking the train every time we wanted to go anywhere, got old. The worst part was we feel we were misled about the price. We asked about the cost for 2 people ahead of time, but when we checked out, the price was almost double what we were originally quoted. Knowing that Germany usually charges per person, rather then by room, we were careful to ask the hotel for the total price for 2 people, and not per person. We were also originally told that breakfast was included but at check out told that it was not and we were charged quite a bit for breakfast for each morning for both of us, even though I did not go there for breakfast one morning. When we tried to question the charges, suddenly the person at the front desk who never had problems with English when talking to us before, suddenly couldn't speak it. If you stay here, get all prices and whats included in the price in writing before you stay.

You would think that a hotel of this class and this prive would entitle you to the best service: nothing is more wrong. Despite the high money you pay, this hotel will excell in making you pay more for every single service you would have had for free in hotel of a lower category: no complimentary water, low quality breakast at a exorbitant 19 euro cost, asking for room service will add an extra 3.5 euros to your bill and dont even think to benefit from your room a couple more hours after check out time to wait for your taxi: this will cost you another 10 euro per hour. The front desk staff is almost bothered by your questions and the hotel has no proper emergency medical kit. Exception is for the night staff and employees from the bar who are friendly and helpful. Not from La Maree restaurant where asking for the menu to inform yourself seems to sound as an insult to their busy and smileless staff.Yes the equipments are good but that doesnt substitute for professionalism in hospitality. To put things worse, you are far from everything unless you plann to move around by taxi: no nearby shop or restaurant so you are basically stuck to ely on the hotel bad service and undeserved prices. For a businesd hotel in a city like Bonn, the internet is painfully slow if you have to download any heavy files or watch streaming videos. You d better go to a place that value your money and care about customer satisfaction.

I stayed here for 7 nights in November 2017. I had a room on the 6th floor with plenty of space. Decent bed but no coffee/espresso machine or electric kettle, or complementary bottle of water for that matter.

Not many shops/restaurants around but good access to multiple U-Bahn stations by walk. Gym facility has rather limited space and selection of equipment (1 multi-training machine and a few bikes/treadmills, no weights).

A bit expensive for the quality of service and facility as I paid EUR212 per night.
