To the entire Stockman family:

It was just last evening that I learned of Richard's untimely passing. I, like so many others, am truly saddened by your loss. Some of my fondest lifetime memories stem from a time period of growing up in Cadwalder Heights, where our families were connected by a 'horse shoe'. How different things seemed back then...when neighbors were like extended family.

Having experienced the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one (my father) just a few weeks ago, I can certainly empathize with your shock and disbelief. I ask that you keep my family in prayer, while knowing that you have been in my thoughts and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers during the incredibly difficult time.

God Bless.

We are so sorry for your loss. Be sure to tell those around you that you love them everyday, because you just never know.

While my memories of Rich are from a long time ago while growing up in Trenton, NJ, however, the one thing that I remember most about Rich is "laughter". I laughed until my stomach hurt every time we got together. He had a great laugh! I'm sure he's on the 1st tee by now with St. Paul as his caddy and the beer cart in tow.

Keep it in the short grass Rich!!

With love,

To Richard's family,

Words cannot express my sorrow at the loss of Richard. I worked with him at DOL & DCA and we became close friends. Richard and I had many good conversations about life in general and the love he had for golf. He was supportive of me during the loss of my daughter and the rotten time we had during the transfer to DCA.

Let your faith help you through this and remember that he will always be in your heart. I will keep his wife, daughters, and family in my prayers.

The Stockman Family,

Words can't describe how sad I was to hear about Richards death. Charlene called me this morning to give me the tragic news.

Richard was a kindrid spirit who saw the bright side of life in everything he did and in everyone he met. Richard had the uncanny ability to make you feel good no matter who you were or where you came from. If you knew his family or his friends he considered you HIS friend.

I have many fond memories growing up with the Stockman family. From our early days on " Horseshoe Lane" learning about life while trying not to embarrass our parents to the canoe trips, concerts, and school events that seemed to be in such great abundance; life seemed so innocent back then. Maura and I, being the oldest, had the responsibility for keeping our respective families in line. If you came home for dinner without one of your siblings you never heard the end of it.

The last time I saw Richard I was chipping golf balls onto the practice green at Moutain View GC when I heard someone yelling "Murphhhhh" as their golf cart came around the corner. I turned around to see Richard and Jeffrey coming towards me with smiles a mile long! I hadn't seen either one of them in years ,but I was a family friend who loved golf and they were not going to play the back nine without me. So off we went! And that's how I will remember Rich forever.......playing golf with his brother and a friend.

I'd like to offer my sincere condolences to the entire Stockman and Delgado family. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this time.

To Lydia, Maura and the entire Stockman clan,

The pain of your family’s loss is being felt here in Maine. My heart goes out to all of you during this trying emotional time.

I remember Richard’s love of basketball, how he’d compete so fiercely and “go strong” on Jeffrey and Chad in the low post, a characterization, of course, that Jeff and Chad may take exception to. But it was the subsequent trash-talking and razzing on the court that took this sibling rivalry to another level. It left me feeling jealous; I’ve never seen brothers so close as the three of them.

Most of all, I remember the friendship that Richard and I shared. He was always accepting, straightforward and had a unique flair for putting things in perspective.

We lost touch over time, but were friends for life as far as I’m concerned. I’m definitely a better man for having made his acquaintance.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Lydia and all the Stockman family.

With all my heart, I send my love to Lydia, Kayla and Sara, to my best friend Chad and all Richards’s extended family and friends.

I have a picture of the Prichard, Chad and I hanging in my bathroom, it’s on a golf course, arms around each others shoulders and with great big smiles, for me that sums it up. Friends and brothers enjoying their time together. I will not forget his love for family, friends or people he just met. I can hear him now saying “God, now come on Boss, you know your not making that downhill 15 foot putt with a 4 foot left to right break, stand aside, let me show you how it’s done.”

My thoughts, and prayers are with you. God has him now, may they look upon us everyday. I will not forget.

May I give you my perspective of Rich from the brief encounter with him at the golf tourney just before his accident. I 'knew' him for about 30 minutes, but in that time I (and my father too) believed we saw a man of warmth and appreciation for all things good. He spoke about the all-too-common 'three minute friendships' and compared that to one of the rarest of things- the life-long friendship such as he had with Bobby and the other Davies boys for many years. My Dad and I were both touched by those sentiments so well spoken of at the time. We were grieved at his passing tho we 'knew' him for just a moment. Sometimes you just know a good man right away.
