Absolutely do NOT come here. Some of the professors do not care about helping you and want to see you struggle before helping. They get mad when you ask for help when you’re not even the only one struggling! As a freshmen who was able to skip an introductory bio class, my first bio professor here did not know what she was teaching, she hasn’t taught for 10 YEARS, it was her first year teaching after a break. The food here is terrible, the menu barely rotates, and you either get raw/undercooked food or bland food. The menu isn’t suitable for picky eaters.
Messina which is for first-years students takes up your time once a week, I wish it was optional. There will be classes you want to take, but it interferes with your enrichment hours. It’s truly annoying as someone who has already lived here to go on trips when I know the community. People here have an attitude, and the only fun things people do is go to the club every week and spend money on Ubers (get a fake id if you want to go).

My time at Loyola University Maryland has been a mix of positives and areas for growth. I've cherished the intimate, close-knit atmosphere fostered by the small size of the university, providing a supportive environment for learning and personal development. I've also appreciated the university's dedication to enhancing diversity and inclusivity, with efforts to incorporate diverse perspectives into the curriculum. However, challenges remain, particularly regarding the accessibility and transparency of financial aid resources. High tuition fees and associated expenses pose a significant burden for many students, limiting opportunities and detracting from the overall college experience. Additionally, while campus dining options are adequate, there's room for improvement in variety and quality. Addressing these challenges would allow Loyola to continue evolving and offering a more enriching experience for its students.
