Absolutely fantastic customer service

Absolutely fantastic customer service.

I ordered £110 worth of RAM, only to decide a day or so later that I needed to upgrade my entire system, and the RAM I ordered wouldn't be compatible. I contacted Kingston via their live chat service and was connected in seconds, and was told that I could get a refund for my order without any problems - I just had to send it back when it came to me.

Then, about an hour later, I got my refund, because they'd realised the package hadn't been dispatched yet, so they made things easy and cancelled the order without me having to ask.

Excellent service in my case. Would buy again in a second.

Kingston is not what they once were

Kingston used to be renowned in the computer hardware field. Great company selling quality stuff. But they no longer take the pride in their products they once did. Just one example: The solid aluminum cases of their USB flash drives have given way to cheaply made ones. If they are still aluminum, they're not much thicker than beer cans, and they're definitely not solid. The insides—the most important part—have suffered as well. Not reliable like they used to be. [sigh]

You shouldn't trust Kingston to protect your valuable data. Not nowadays. I once bought Kingston products, confident I was getting good quality from a good company. Sad to see yet another corporation putting profit above all else.

Bean counters on Wall Street seem to be the only ones most companies care about now. Customers be damned.

Site Maintenance Too Long!

I bought a Kingston SSD from a 3rd party suppplier who cannot be faulted (5 stars for Mr Memory) but when trying to download the cloning software I encountered a maintenance window. The URL didn't tell me that, I had to spend a couple of hours working out what was happening. Eventually I got a maintenance page up which was worse than useless as it said to try again in a few minutes. I'd already been trying for nearly two hours! Now, my life doesn't give me much time to be wasting upgrading my computer and so when I get the time to do it, I'm going to do it right there and then. But my time window is up for this week and I'm somewhat disgruntled. (That's a typical British understatement for a level of anger that borders on nuclear and can only be expressed with lots of very extreme sweary words written in bold and full caps.)

Fantastic experience with RMA

Fantastic experience with RMA of an SSD.

Return was authorised within 24 hours. Posted item back on Saturday morning, it arrived with them on the Monday and I had a brand new drive (with full retail kit) delivered the very next day.

Had to RMA a keyboard from them last year, which was a nightmare in itself. Shane in particular was incredibly rude and unhelpful.

Replacement keyboard has also developed a fault. Poor QC and poor PR. Avoid.

Do not trust

Do not trust. I had a defective MobileLite Pro. I was instructed to send it in and the tech checked to make sure it could be replaced. Again, confirmed model and serial number and that they did have same model to replace. They sent back regular G3 worth virtually 10% of what I sent in. They are lying scumbags.

Not so bad finaly

EDIT : 17/08/2023
I don't know if my comment here change a thing or not, but at least they exchange me one of the two key, better than nothing, so i change my grade from 1 to 4.

Worst customer service. I have two dead usb key. write to the support, they didn't read my messages and ask me to do impossible test, like benchmark a non recognized usb key, after 10 emails, one week they tell non sense like "All usb key can't be made bootable" ...

At the end, they never change my two key, two key bougth 1 months ago with a 5 year warranty !!!

I use kingston drive since 15 year, never add any issue, and for once i have a problem, they don't care.

Trust is dead, next time i'll buy product directly from china at low price. I paid high price for the warranty, if the warranty isn't respected, i'll give my money to another company !

I was led to believe that Kingston was…

I was led to believe that Kingston was a good brand for memory sticks and cards but my experience is the exact opposite. My last experience of Kingston memory usb stick only lasted 4 months before entering a read only state due to a failed NAND controller and no longer able to format or delete the data. With a manufacturers 5 year warrantee, customer services asked for "evidence that the product cannot be replaced by point of purchase". Since purchased from an e-bay retailer, this appears impossible to obtain. I have in addition paid out £30 to a computer engineer to look at it and it all emerges to be a lost cause.

Keyboards suck

Their RAM memory is good and reliable, but I am never buying another keyboard from this brand. Bought a $100 mechanical keyboard, didn't use it for a day when I started experiencing key chattering/bounce. The metal body when touched often will give you an electric shock.

Super service!

Super service!

I bought a hyper x gaming headset, sadly the jack cord broke. After a short chat with customer support, they send a new one free off charge, which I received a week later!

super satisfied.

Excellent service

Excellent service!
I lost the mic from my Hyperx Cloud headset that i purchased a year ago, i checked if i could buy a replacement on their website which i couldn't since they don't deliver parts to my country (i live in Denmark).
Anyway, i contacted customer support and they send me a new mic free of charge, im sure it isn't that much of an expense for them, but in my book that is great customer service!

Over the top support in RMA!

Bought a HyperX Cloud II headset a few months back and had this annoying white noise playing whenever I used the 7.1 USB sound card. Contacted Kingston support and they sent me a new 7.1 USB sound card free of charge and I got to keep the old one. Sound card arrived a few days later but didn't solve the problem unfurtunately. Back in contact with Kingston support and a few days later a brand new headset arrived plus I got to keep the old one even though the stereo part works as it should. The new headset works like a charm!

THAT is customer service at its finest!!

I had a memory card failure (the phone…

I had a memory card failure (the phone would not take photos or video, etc) and this came on gradually with the card eventually losing all stored on it, but after I had backed most of it up, thankfully. I was lucky I got some warning from that over a few weeks and my phone also warned me via a screen message. I have never had a problem with Kingston memory before, and my phone does get a little bit hot sometimes and that doesn't help. This card was not new. Kingston in the UK replaced it with no fuss via a courier. It certainly encourages me to buy their memory cards again. That said, I think backup software exists for a reason and backups should be routinely done whichever memory brands are used.

Good products, terrible service.

Although I do like some of their products Kingston (and their hyperx stores) have absolutely terrible customer service.

My experience with them: They've taken a considerable amount of money from my account for an order, 4 days later I enquire into the status of the order as there has been no dispatch notification but the money has left my bank account. A short while after I enquire I get an email saying my order has been canceled as there has been an "issue taking payment", and that a refund will be issued. Problem is I have to wait an undisclosed amount of time for my refund. Luckily I have funds besides, but some people don't have extra cash lying around, and they'd be forced to wait for the refund to process before they could buy the thing they originally wanted/payed for.

TLDR: Basically, avoid Kingston/hyperx services like the plague. Some of their products are good. Their services are almost criminal.

Avoid

Item ordered was available online, after ordering it i got casually informed that it is not available until next few days, asked them for anything more about it - no reply for two days, no refund offer, nothing to compensate, still component is not here and money is with them. Bad experience.

What a $hit show!!$

What a $*it show!!! Been trying to buy my son some Hyper X cloud 2's for over a month now and they can't even process the order! How hard is it for a father to order his son a headset and they can't even get that right!!! I'm sure if I would have ordered from NewEgg I wouldn't have had any issues. But it's been over a month now and they still haven't processed my order yet they keep on charging my card every week. Incompetence at it's best! Unbelievable! I do not recommend ordering from the Kingston website, just order from Newegg or Best Buy or whoever because it will be less headaches and at least whoever you ordered something for will get it. My son is still waiting on his headset. Thanks for Nothing Kingston!!!

Do not count on their warranty for SD…

Do not count on their warranty for SD cards. Stated lifetime warranty requires you to spend many days and jump thru many hoops to get a replacement for defective cards. After five emails I am only 1/2 thru the replacement process for a $10.99 card. I have many Kingston products and now wish I had none. I am giving up on getting a replacement, they have beaten me, I give. Terrible company to deal with, will go with San disk from now on.

Kingston is one of my most…

Kingston is one of my most well-respected brands when it comes to computer hardware. Whether it be RAM or Flash Drives, they've proven over and over again that they are one of the best. They've withstood the test of time, and I know that they will continue to thrive for even longer. When it comes to SSD though, I'd say Samsung is better.
