Elsik High School is a good school to learn and become a better person. I won’t lie at first I was doing really bad but the most you focus on school and not your friends you start getting better, I started from having a 2.0 gpa and now have a 2.5, yes, maybe I can do so much better but I am still so proud of myself and next year I will try my best to get at 3.0 or more. This high school has many bad influences (students) and many think is cool and they do the same, this school tries It’s best to fix it but many don’t listen. So they’ve taken action to change that. One thing I could maybe change would be how unfair some teachers are, because I get sick a lot I get migraines, I’ve missed like 4 days of school this year and one of my teachers, when I ask for the work they kind off give an attitude, and I feel disrespected because I was in a lot of pain for me to even miss school is the worse. I love going to school and completing my work. So I would like to be treated better. Thank you!..
I think the best part about my experience is being able to go to our district career center and practice my skills on culinary. I feel like the worst part of my experience would probably be the lack of school events. We used to have field day, pep rallys, and my favorite, food truck day, but over the years they've slowly gotten rid of them. If I could see any changes made, it would be to host more events. Our district doesn't have a lot of money so we have a hard time getting funding for field trips, events, etc. Even our career center doesn't have enough money to do our labs because we only get a limited budget for our programs. (My program is culinary and we only got $2000 for the whole year, which had to be spilt between 4 teachers with 3 classes each, 12 classes, and with about 30 students each). Not only do we need the funding for the career programs but we also need it to fix up our 2 oldest high-schools. Every week there's a new restroom that's going out of order.
Good school, good teachers. The area is overlooked due to past incidents but the school overall is not a bad one.
