      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

For a sitcom with such a heady concept, Maggie can feel flimsily slight, but its disarming unpretentiousness and charming cast point to a promising enough future.

Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe The show is pleasant enough, thanks to a strong supporting cast, and it’s worlds better than Hulu’s How I Met Your Father. But with so many good series out there now, “Maggie” does not compel... It’s all sweet and, maybe, a little too light. Jul 6, 2022 Full Review John Anderson Wall Street Journal With all the accessories of a vintage sitcom -- I kept thinking of Bewitched, for a number of reasons -- Maggie distinguishes itself from many of its predecessors by having no laugh track and actually being funny. Jul 6, 2022 Full Review Nina Metz Chicago Tribune I found the show unexpectedly smart and funny and self-deprecating. Rated: 3.5/4 Jul 6, 2022 Full Review Marty Brown Common Sense Media This show's basic premise, a psychic who avoids her own emotional life, has the potential to be both fun and philosophical. Rated: 4/5 Jul 20, 2022 Full Review Allyson Johnson Pajiba In a year where there are so many incredible shows to watch, Maggie is little more than a title that takes up space on an already full docket. Jul 13, 2022 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Maggie and Ben need to acquire some sort of personality to make the show work. Jul 7, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

daniela c I loved the show, started watching without knowing anything about it and fell in love with it. Great cast and writing, funny and with heart. Can't get over that it won't have a second season and that the story will remain unresolved, feels just like Snyder's JL. Heartbreaking. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review kim b I can't believe Hulu cancelled this show. It's really fresh, light, and so funny. Every episode, I've marveled at the comedic timing and how beautifully the cast members work together. I'm not a sitcom watcher. Nearly all of them feel canned and boring. The humor in Maggie just felt so natural and easy. And smart! I so appreciated that from the writers! I was looking forward to seeing it develop & I believe if Hulu gave it some time, it would get better & better. I guess they'd rather stay with canned & boring. Dang. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/23 Full Review Joana D I can't believe Hulu canceled this show. :/ Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Brianna N The cast is incredible. The plot is compelling. The vibe is warm, silly, exciting. It's amazing that a show about a psychic can feel so genuine.
