Marymount has a very supportive faculty which is there for every student. The resources for students with learning differences is also incredibly beneficial.
My experience at Marymount high school thus far has been good. But there some difficluties with the cafe, but that is being resolved next year.

As a alumni, I am very proud to have my girls at Marymount. I became grateful for the skills I acquired at Marymount once I was in college and the working world. Academically, I was beyond prepared for college, which made the transition smooth. In the working world, Marymount instilled a passion that I could do anything I set my mind to. I attribute much of my success in my career to my foundation at Marymount, which is why it was an easy decision to send my daughters there currently.
Most of the teachers and faculty at Marymount truly only wish the best for you and are there to help you as long as you reach out. I made the mistake of being to scared and stubborn to ask for help so I had a really hard time when the work load started to pile up , and TRUST me the work load at Marymount is not light, especially if you are taking AP classes. You have to use all the resources that Marymount offers and office hours are another big regret of mine for not taking advantage of sooner.
The best part of my overall experience at Marymount High School were the friendships I made and the experiences I had. Although my friendship circles around me changed drastically, all of the friendships I made were genuine, real, and amazing. The rest of my classmates, although I wasn't the closest with them, were still kind, smart, and willing to help others when needed. The lesser than best experience was just the lack of diversity and lack of open-mindedness to the students and what they wanted to change.
I started Marymount High School during COVID and was very happy on how they could adapt all of our classes to online and make us feel like we were connected. Rigorous coursework but the teachers are very willing to be available to help. Lots of clubs and activities to chose from. Being in an all girls school school is very beneficial to academic success, friendships, leadership opportunities and support. I feel I will be able to apply to colleges of my choice because I feel that the school prepares us well.
My daughter transferred to Marymount from another private school in Los Angeles. Marymount is a solid, traditional school and an excellent community. The teachers are always available during office hours for extra help if needed. My daughter joined the choir, math club, and sports team, and she made new friends. The college counseling program is excellent. Marymount is a great school.
I’m appreciative of the education and love I’ve gotten at Marymount. I love that the school uses its asset of being a private organization for good: the school works harder each year to be more inclusive, enhance our understanding of one another, as both students and faculty, and create clubs and courses that focus on topics that are often neglected in some public school settings. Those focuses include discussions or race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, and mental health to name a few. I don’t think anything is perfect, hence I do wish some things were changed, but I think that comes with time and has more to do with a handful of students not doing what they should rather than the organization itself. Overall, I love the school, the staff, and the spirit!
Marymount has surpassed my expectations in so many ways. The environment is supportive and nurturing, it really encourages the girls to see their value and to grow, both emotionally and intellectually. After covid a lot of schools were challenged with staff shortages and decrease student enrollment. I think Marymount dealt with these issues as best as they could. The students remained the top priority and academic excellence was never compromised.
My daughter has completed her Freshman year at Marymount and I can't express enough how incredible the year was for her. Socially she made many new friends, who all have different interests, personalities, and goals. The young woman at Marymount really support one another and encourage each other to try new things. Academically, the faculty is extremely attentive to the students and work with them if they need extra help or explanations. Also, Marymount makes sure the students are on track for the college admissions process. They really get to know the students and help guide them every step of the way. I love the events they offer such as the Father/daughter dance, Mother/daughter brunch, and the Father's BBQ on campus. These types of events really help the parents get to know one another and spend time with their daughter's friends. If you have a daughter who is looking for a high school in the future, I highly recommend you take a look at Marymount!
The COVID transition for middle school girls has been particularly challenging. I have been pleased and impressed with the communication and collaboration the staff and faculty have provided during our time at MHS. They have been balancing the right about of compassion, empathy, understanding and natural consequences. Dawn Regan, Assistant Head of School, Student Affairs knows the girls and has incredible range understand their hopes, dreams, aspirations and potential. The leadership they instill in these girls is real. My daughter tested into Math with juniors as a freshman, she was well prepared and challenged. Her science scores have been more of a struggle. They have been supportive. My daughter has been slow to join activities but held accountable for doing her best work in the classroom. Together, we are hopeful she emerges into activities as a pace that suits her sophomore year.
I have been blown away by how my daughter has excelled at Marymount. Coming from a pretty progressive school, I was worried about the more traditional environment and how she would transition. She came into the school without a built in friend group so will admit the first semester was pretty challenging. With that said, she ultimately ended the year with a great mix of friends and I look forward to seeing how those relationships grow. There is a lot of support from teachers for those kids who seek it. She made use of the office hours and found the teachers very willing to help. She played volleyball and participated in choir. She did not participate in the many different clubs but there is quite a lot to choose from if one had the time! The academics are rigorous and its a couple hours of homework each night. What I love about Marymount is the sisterhood that forms among the girls and the fact that the expectations of what is expected of you is very clear. It's truly a great school.
I love this wonderful school so much. It has been such a great place for my daughter. The teachers and staff are available and go above and beyond (one teacher even zoomed with my daughter on a Sunday!) There is such a special community at Marymount, for both families and the students. Parents are welcomed and included. The staff is sure to make the school experience fun -- there are school spirit days and just a lot of time spent thinking about how to get the girls laughing and smiling and enjoying their high school experience. The academics are challenging, but the teachers want you to succeed. I cannot recommend Marymount enough. It's a very special place to be!
I loved my time at Marymount, and I felt that Marymount truly prepared me for college. I had excellent teachers, counselors, and mentors. Students have many resources, such as internship and volunteer opportunities, extracurriculars, and sports. My only complaint is that Marymount is not as diverse as it makes itself seem
I truly did love my experience at Marymount. I loved the people and educators I met. They were all so kind and allowed me to reflect on who I am and who I want to become. I believe all young girls should experience an all-girls academic environment because it is so powerful. Academically, it is challenging, because the teachers push the students to find a greater philosophical meaning to the text. I believe diversity is lacking at Marymount, and there needs to be a more diverse administration and student population.
This school provided me with a wonderful education and memories. It set me up for success. The program does a phenomenal job at preparing individuals for college.
I graduated from Marymount Highschool two years ago, and the girls at this school will be your friends for life. The administration and teachers are very welcoming and always available to you. I formed close relationships with most of my teachers and received individualized help when needing it. Academically it is challenging, but I would not take back my experience for the world!
I absolutely love Marymount High School! I am a rising senior and my education and how far I have come have truly surprised me. Marymount was my dream high school, and I'm so happy that they accepted me to become part of their community. I have learned so much and have become a better citizen, student, daughter and friend because of this school. I highly recommend this school to girls who wish to become stronger, more independent and smarter not just in school but in daily life too.
Some departments, like English and History, are very strong, but mathematics and sciences are lacking. The school is, in a lot of ways, pretty traditional when it comes to religion. There is a good community feel among students and teachers, but not a great relationship with administration.
