Madras College - Welcome from our Rector

Madras College

Welcome from our Rector

Welcome to the Madras College website. Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website and I hope that you find it informative and easy to use.

Madras College opened in 1833 and takes its name from founder the Rev. Dr Andrew Bell and the educational system he devised.

Madras College is a co-educational, non-denominational, 6-year comprehensive Secondary school of approximately 1370 learners from across the St Andrews and Bridgehead catchment area. We recognise that all of our learners are individuals and we strive to provide a high level of care and additional support for all. A significant number of our learners come from Armed Forces families linked to the Leuchars MOD base and families linked to the University of St Andrews.

This session, we begin an exciting new chapter in the rich history of Madras College as we open our outstanding new school campus on Bell Brae and with it, the ability to welcome all of our school community onto an accessible, single-site campus for the first time.

We hope to welcome you into our new building as soon as possible. In the interim, you can view pictures and a short video tour of our school campus and facilities by clicking here.

As the new Rector, I look forward to working in partnership with you to achieve the very best outcomes for all of our young people. If you have any further questions, please do contact us using the details at the bottom of our home page as we’re always happy to help.
