15 Jahre warte ich drauf - jetzt endlich erhältlich: DAS KONZERT ÜBERHAUPT!! Wer das nicht kennt hat alles verpasst was hervorragende Musik ausmacht. Ich hab die DVD jetzt eine Woche und schaue mir die Aufnahmen jeden Abend an. Unbändige Spielfreude, Kreativität, Power ohne Ende (auch in den leisen Passagen). Drei Musiker der absoluten Extraklasse auf Topniveau. Solche Konzerte haben den Ruhm um OHNE FILTER gesponnen. Weg vom Mainstream hin zu Live gespielter Musik.

KAUFEN, KAUFEN,KAUFEN sag ich nur!!

Einen Wehrmutstropfen hat diese DVD alledings: Warum nur 4 Songs vom 1984er Konzert? Wo ist der Rest?

Ach ja wo wir gerade dabei sind - wie wäre es mit der Veröffentlichung des Konzertes des Duos Jonas Hellborg/John McLaughlin. Das war auch so ein Hammer!

Was soll man über Steve Morse noch sagen, hier wird gezeigt was alles auf der elektrischen Gitarre möglich ist. Steve bedient sich hierbei auch gezielt die möglichen Effekte in seiner Spieltechnik einfliessen zu lassen und so seiner musikalischen Bandbreite die großtmögliche Entfaltung zu geben.
Besonders überragend finde ich hierbei das Stück "Ice Cakes".
Als alter Steve Morse-Fan und auch für andere Gitarristen unbedingte Kaufempfehlung:

I'm going to Disagree with some of the other reviewers here, the production is EXACTLY as it should be on this DVD, with 90% of the footage of Morse and his screaming AXE. This DVD goes back to Steve's roots with a lot of Dixie Dreg like licks. He plays a lot off of his first solo Effort "The Introduction". The sound is clear and vibrant especially in 5.1 Digital. I really have to say how much I love Steve Morse. This may not be his most rocking DVD, in that he plays a lot of his country style music, but I love everything this man does. Its certainly the most rocking wild jam country I ever heard.The bonus footage is from a set back in time 1984 Germany adds a great group of 5 or so songs, plus one cool promo video. Ok so if you want a more pure rock sound check out "Total Abandon" the live Deep Purple set from Aus. I tell you though don't miss this it's Steve's heart and soul. If you are like me your heart and soul will soar when listening to this, it's happy hearty, healthy rock and roll. NUFF SAID.

The musical abilities of Mr. Steve Morse are nothing short of astounding. His skill and technique on the electric guitar is superhuman. His intelligence as a composer is on the highest level. Dixie Dregs fans will be delighted with the brilliant performances of Night Meets Light, Pride O' The Farm, and Ice Cakes. These tunes feature Steve incorporating an encyclopedia of guitar techniques and tones as he and his trio blaze through these very complicated and inventive compositions playing country funk/rock, and orchestral melody lines. Transcending all of the virtuosity is the beauty and memorable melodies of these great compositions. The production on the 1990 footage is first rate with crystal clear camera work and excellent sound. The audio quality of the 1984 bonus material is noticeably inferior, but it's a treat to view these vintage performances. The bonus tracks feature Steve's first trio with Rod Morgenstein and Jerry Peek. It's classic Morse with his long blonde locks, playing his mongrel strat with a stack of Ampegs in the background. If you want to see one of the world's greatest guitarists in action, get this dvd!

The production on this DVD is not that good. Steve Morse is better viewed on the following DVD's: Living Loud, Deep Purple Total Abandon, Sects Dregs and Rock n Roll. You will definitely want this in your collection if you're a Steve Morse fan like me but his other DVD's are alot better.

This is The Steve Morse Band at it's best, with clips dating back to Morgenstern and Peek. For it's time the production and sound are excellent.

The material covered on this disc are probably his best compositions that were executed with the passion I remember from the Morse performances of that era.

An absolute must for Morse fans.
