Mom is giving at least one of its leading ladies the happy ending she deserves.
In the series’ penultimate episode, which aired Thursday, Jill found out that she’s pregnant. The positive test was revealed backstage at a black tie gala, where Marjorie was honored with the Napa Valley Community Hero Award. She’d been nominated by her previously estranged son Jerry (CSI‘s Wallace Langham), who made it just in time to hear his mother’s acceptance speech.
Afterwards, Andy arrived and surprised Jill. Bonnie had texted him that his better half wasn’t feeling well prior to finding out that Jill was with child. The father-to-be couldn’t have been happier when his girlfriend broke the news to him — so ecstatic, he was, that he didn’t think twice when he shared with Jill that he was a 14 lb. baby… and most of that was his head!
Jill’s desire to have a child has been an essential part of the character’s journey. In Season 4, she suffered a devastating miscarriage. She eventually fostered a teenage girl named Emily but lost her, as well, when Emily was reunited with her birth mom in Season 5. More recently, Jill attempted in vitro fertilization, which proved unsuccessful.
In addition to Jill’s big news, the CBS comedy’s second-to-last episode saw Bonnie give a touching speech in honor of Marjorie. Having initially planned to “roast” Marjorie, Dean Martin-style, Bonnie shocked Adam when she ditched her prepared remarks and spoke from the heart. Tammy, meanwhile, hit things off with limo driver Clayton (played by recent Good Doctor guest star Marcuis W. Harris).
During the closing credits, CBS aired the following promo for Mom‘s May 13 series finale, featuring guest stars Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men) and Rondi Reed (Mike & Molly). In the episode, titled “My Kinda People and the Big To-Do,” Bonnie gains a new outlook on her sobriety after dealing with “difficult news.” Plus, Jill and Andy take another big step in their relationship… which is spoiled in the following photos released ahead of air. You can also watch a sneak peek here.
Nowhere to be seen or mentioned is Anna Faris’ Christy, who left Napa for Washington D.C. in the final season premiere to attend Georgetown Law School. There has been no indication that Faris will return for next week’s grand finale.

I really enjoyed tonight’s episode! Very exciting and touching!
I wish Jill and Andy would carrying on this a series of their own!!
Alice that would be awesome
Great idea!
I love that idea!
I Love ❤️ the show hate to see it end Got us All feeling sad . Hope that it will have a spinoff with Jill and Andy and they all appear in different episodes. I have laughed and cried and really enjoyed this show from the bottom of my heart. Uncancel PLEASE! More Episodes
I agree the show and stories of the remaining cast members could easily carry this show on for many more seasons without Chrissy.
I wonder what the “difficult news” is that Bonnie is dealing with next week?
I am sad to see Mom come to an end..I love watching them happy sad joyful moments of their life..
Best show ever can’t believe it is ending? Love it
What’s happening with Wendy??
Dee, I could not agree more! She is the only character who never got much respect, so she should get her time in the sun in the finale. I’m happy for all the other characters, but only if Adam is clear of cancer.
I’d also like to add that I love MOM and wish it wasn’t being cancelled. There are still stories to tell. And now they’ve introduced Shannon and Jolene! Please either bring MOM back, or go for a spinoff with Jill and Andy and their baby!
I do want it to end either i just love that show i hope that they start showing the other esposides
I love Mom and am very sad that it ends next week. With COVID and life, Mom helps me laugh out loud as I am alone, but life is good after watching MOM. Please keep going or continue with reruns from the beginning. However, I do enjoy this cast and tonights second to the end was wonderful, laugh and cried. Don’t leave, PLEASE.
I agree perfect show doing this time.
They need to uncancel this show Asap, while the cast are all still available. This season proved that although she was missed, Christy was no more an “essential” part of the cast than Chef Rudy, Roscoe, Violet, Christie’s Dad, etc. It is their BEST sitcom, as well as the best Lore show currently running.

Seems like they called it off b/c they’re mad about Janney’s wig. ;) Blatant discrimination against the follically-challenged, and discriminatory as heck. (J/k, of course, but it shows how desperate I am for another season…lol.)
I believe Christie will relaspe.
Or worse…
I love the show!!I wish it didnt end
My hope is that will get something along the lines of a suprise cameo from Anna Faris. Something akin to when Topher Grace showed up in the closing moments of That 70’s Show.
Its a shame that the series is ending it was such a good show and yet they made a promising storyline for Jill and I was hoping to see how that played out when unfortunately I don’t think we’re going to see that but maybe we will see these ladies in a spin-off.
I can’t believe this show is being canceled. I honestly enjoy it more without Christy’s character.
I feel the same way. When Christy first left I thought the show would lose something, but instead it pivoted a new direction and I really like it.
It helps that I am a total Kristen Johnston stan and with Christy leaving it seems like we’ve had more Tammy, which makes me like it even more.
I enjoyed it more now without the whiny complaining character of Chrissy Should not cancel it
i enjoy it so much, please don’t cancel.I liked christy but its doing just fine without her. why is it being canceled?
I love this show I enjoyed it more without Chrissy. She was just to whiny and negative . I wish this show wasn’t canceled. That Sheldon show should have been the show to go. That’s my opinion though.
I agree 100% with you.
I agree
Me too.I was really tired of her character and all the goofy mannerisms
Mom has to the funniest sitcom in many years. It is my all time favorite. Someone needs to pick it up. I will miss it.
Love the show and so SO sad it’s ending. Thank you all for all the love and laughter. Great job!!!
There is absolutely no reason to end this series. I have enjoyed it immensely and there better be a spin-off!
I hope can consider not ending the show. Love the way it’s going. Especially Jill’s story. Just love the full cast right from the beginning. Todays show was the best. I will surely miss this show.
I love this show sooo dam much, goin to miss it…was soo hoping for another season 😟Goin to miss the ladies n guys,Thank-you!!👍💜
Love this show! It’s better without whiney Christy. So mad they are canceling it. All these characters play off each other so well, they are all leads and there are so many stories they could still tell. Why take it off????
I have been a fan of the show since season 1 is 1 of the best things on TV today. I can understand having to bring it to an end but I think there should be a spin off maybe with Jill & Andy, Bonnie & Adam & of course Marjorie. One can only hope for that spin off. Good luck to the entire cast and thank you for all the seasons. To a lot of people I know who struggle with drug and alcohol addiction you’ve been inspiring
Sad that the show is going off! It was just getting really good since they took Christy off! She was dragging the show down. Wish they would keep it on!
I watched tonight’s episode with sadness knowing there’s only 1 to go before it’s gone. I will miss this show.
I do hope that the characters Jill & Andy get their own show. That would be something I’d watch.
Tonight’s episode was really great. This season has been wonderful, I can’t complain. I cringed when Bonnie was writing her speech, but was pleasantly surprised when she truly expressed her feelings for Marjorie. All these years of bashing Marjorie, it was a nice touch to see Bonnie truly express gratitude towards the woman. So sad to see it end. I wonder what difficult news is to come? Quite a few characters with open-ended story lines, Roscoe, Violet, Violet’s daughter and Bonnie’s brother, who had turned to drugs and alcohol and seemed to stray from AA. I wonder if he dies? I wish they would’ve let the show run another year or two. Watching Jill deal with a newborn, more Wendy stories, Tammy, it could have been fun; so many more stories to tell.
The best episode! Made me cry. I’m going to miss “Mom”.
I. am disappointed they ate ending the show. The storyline of women in recovery from alcoholism is unique – humorous as well as petulant. This team of actors are iconic. I will miss it greatly
+ 1 I am liking it more with this approach. It’s both hilarious and deep at the same time
I wish the decision to end Mom could be reversed. Several episodes, recently, have been laugh out loud funny. I don’t miss Christy/Anna Faris at all. I think the show is just as funny without her. It could and should go on. The cast of women is fantastic and Mom is a show I always looked forward to on Thursday nights.
We love this show..so sad it been cancel i think still funny with out Ana Faris ..the cast are all so funny please re consider to keep it on..Canada
Tammy and her new boyfriend was unnecessary. Tammy WAS a fun character. Glad the kids went, very annoying. Maybe a Jill and Andy or Bonnie and Adam show? Unclear about Bonnie and a wig? So going forward with the final eoisode, hopefully back to humor instead of heavy drama. Adieu ladies. It has been fun and l will enjoy reruns.
Tammy has lost her otherwise funny mind. Adeiu Ladies, it was fun. I hope the finale has less drama and ends on a high (pardon the pun) note.
