I believe Lake Highlands has been a pretty great school. I have built a close bond with many of my administrators. Many of the faculty members have assisted me a lot. We have many sports teams, clubs, and performing arts groups. I'm a part of our drill team which preforms often throughout the school year. However, we lack resources. Often during class students lacks things such as calculators and supplies for science experiments.
Lake Highlands high school is filled with many talented and creative teachers, onces that have made my experience greatly enhanced however I don't feel fully helped with the college application process and wish there was more help with this aspect and scholarships options as well. I also wish there was more help with schedules and figuring out if thats the right path for you with the college you would like to attend in mind, in all Lake Highlands has been a great school for me and I feel has taught me very well.
My overall experience at Lake Highlands High School has been very good and has taught me a lot. Lake Highlands offers extensive amounts of clubs and opportunities to make every feel included and has a bunch of class options for whatever level you are at academically. One negative of Lake Highlands is the administration could be better. I would like to see change in some policies and the consequences that come along with them, as they are a little extreme.
Lake Highlands is a great place to live and grow up. The high school is diverse. It has taught me a lot. I love the activities the school provides. Academics could be more rigorous.
My time at Lake Highlands High School was truly heartwarming. The best parts of my experience were the strong sense of community and the unwavering support from both my peers and teachers. Whether it was cheering each other on at sports events or collaborating on projects, there was always a spirit of camaraderie that made me feel valued and included. The dedication and passion of the teachers were also remarkable, as they consistently went avove and beyond to ensure our success. However, balancing academics and extracurricular activities could be challenging, and I believe there is room for improvement in providing mental health support for students. Overall, through, my experience at Lake Highlands High School was one of growth , friendships, and warmth that I will always cherish in the bottom of my heart.
Its an alright school in general, Its gets the job done, Administrators can be a little over the board most times but if you are going there strictly to learn then great choice.
Lake Highlands has been a diverse and fun experience, the student body represents not just a plethora of cultures and beliefs, but an ecosystem of people who interact closely on a daily basis. A noticeable feature about the school is the sense of community around it, both literally and figuratively; the school is positioned within the Lake Highlands neighborhood and the members pour resources and care into everything we do. This care continues within the walls of LH through the genuine excitement and concern every teacher displays toward each individual, allowing our learning to flourish. Despite teachers' efforts to encourage a love for learning, administration is a weak point that noticeably interferes with student's happiness, interaction with others and want to be at Lake Highlands. Decisions to reform student life, confine student expression and a clear disconnect from the kids' needs and experience haven't ruined my experience but are noticeably upsetting the Wildcat students.
As a freshman at Lake Highlands High School, my experience has been less than stellar. One of the major drawbacks is the lack of a welcoming atmosphere for newcomers. The school culture seems cliquish and exclusive, making it challenging for freshmen to integrate and feel a sense of belonging.
The academic environment is also a source of disappointment. While there are certainly dedicated teachers, the overall quality of education feels inconsistent. Some classes lack the innovation and engagement needed to captivate students, making the learning experience dull and unexciting.
Facilities and resources are another area of concern. The school infrastructure appears outdated, and there is a noticeable lack of investment in modern amenities. From cramped classrooms to outdated technology, it feels like Lake Highlands High School is not keeping up with the times, hindering the overall educational experience.

Overall a great school. Very good at sports and a lot of school spirit. I would like to see the math department change.
I really enjoyed my time there and I the main reason was being a par of the fine arts program. Richardson isd has always had a very good fine arts programs and it has made my experience amazing.
I like Lake Highlands besides the yondr pouches and awful bathrooms. The yondr pouches did not make a difference between when we have them and when we id not in my opinion.
My experience with Lake Highlands High School overall has been a fine experience, i wouldn’t say we are the best school, but we also aren’t the worst school out there. We have our ups and downs and for me i do think it’s a diverse school with many different people with different backgrounds, as well as the teachers, they are just as diverse as the students, but in the past we have had moments of scandals and problems such as racism. where i would like to see change is in the way they communicate and explain things to students because most of the time we are lost with what’s going on in our own school sometimes.
During my time in school, I was able to easily engage with my classmates, as my teachers always made an effort to make students feel included during lessons and activities. Also, although there is a lot of diversity on campus overall, there's a lack of diversity in other sports besides football.
Lake Highlands HS has been a roller coaster of events. My freshman year was tough given it was a COVID year. We started classes online and later went in person. This was difficult when it came to learning, studying, focusing and meeting new friends. We were able to play sports but there were no other social events like Homecoming or dances or club meetings. I was quarantined multiple times when exposed or when a family member got sick. It definitely affected my grades and my learning experience. I have come along way since my freshman year and have been involved in football for the past 4 years along with several other clubs. So far my senior year has been filled with both highs and lows but I am excited to have the best year yet.
Lake Highlands High School is a bustling institution filled with vibrant energy and diverse student life. Though my time there has been limited due to online courses, I've heard it's a place where academic excellence meets a rich tapestry of extracurricular activities. The campus, I hear, is modern and well-equipped, fostering an environment conducive to learning and personal growth. The student body is known for its inclusivity and camaraderie, creating a sense of belonging even for newcomers. Overall, it seems to be a school that values both education and community, making it a promising learning environment for those fortunate enough to attend in person.
The best part was marching out of class to protest the suspension of a black trans student simply for standing up to a racist teacher. It was somewhat impactful, almost to the point where people from the news came and captured the moment
I believe the school develops through the years. In my opinions sole affairs are handled half-heartedly, for example when it comes to Black History Month and having enough resources to represent for that month. I will say the faculty feels more close to home and the attempt is there.
