Garrison Brown, who appeared on the TLC reality series Sister Wives along with his parents Kody and Janelle Brown, died of gunshot wound to the head, People reports. Per an autopsy report, the 25-year-old’s death was ruled a suicide.
Garrison’s death in March was confirmed by the Flagstaff Police Department, with officers responding to “a report of a death inside a home.” The police statement says that Garrison’s younger brother Gabriel found him dead in an apparent suicide, adding that there was no indication of foul play.
Garrison was one of six children shared by Kody and Janelle and was a pre-teen when Sister Wives debuted on TLC in 2010. Sister Wives chronicles the lives of polygamist Kody and his four wives — Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn — and their 18 children. The most recent season, the show’s 18th, aired on TLC last year; Kody and Janelle separated in December 2022.
Kody and Janelle posted an emotional tribute to their son in a joint statement on Instagram: “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
TLC released a statement as well: “We are devastated to hear of the tragic loss of Garrison Brown. We extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the Brown family at this difficult time.”

I’m so sorry for your loss, I lost my daughter at the age of 15 in a car accident. The loss of a child is so so hard! May our Lord wrap his loving arms around you and your family, give you some kind of comfort knowing he’s not in pain any longer. I’ve got to add the Garrison and Gab are my 2 most favorite kids, it’s going to be hard even for me. Bless Gab, he’s going to need you!!

Such a travesty. He was such a great kid. I have no doubt that his narcissistic father’s lack of attention had a big impact on his mental health. Kody was mental abusive towards him.
Pretty sure you mean “tragedy” instead of “travesty” ( a grotesque or farcical imitation for purposes of ridicule). And it is really unbecoming to use this young man’s death to attack his father.
Cody Brown was cold and uncaring to this young man and if you watched the show you would know this fact, I feel horrible for Janelle and her family but Cody is a horrible person who deserves absolutely NO sympathy. It’s terribly sad that this young man felt this was the only way to find peace. Prayers to his mother and siblings.
While the relationship of Garrison had with his Dad was rough it is sad that you could attack someone at one of the worse time of their lives. Kody is grieving the death of his son and regardless of how you and many others may feel about him this is not the right time not place to air your opinion. The remaining members of their family need each other and they don’t need added stress. May God bless them all.
you may not like Cody on the show but to blame him for his son’s death is just wrong, Don’t forget you are watching a reality show you really don’t know what happens off camera
I so feel for the family. I am sorry your life is in the spotlight during such a tragic and private time . I urge the public to embrace and not judge you! You are not responsible for someone else’s choice. I am so sorry your son struggled and lost hope in that moment. As parents, we all try our best. It is easy to pass judgment but hard for people to embrace parents who are going through the biggest nightmare of their lives

I so agree, I saw the hurt in that child’s eyes . I couldn’t live with myself knowing my actions may have been my son’s decision to say good by. There are no words for this family this is a hard one to deal with. As a mother I hurt for Janelle. God bless you, Gab and all the family who truly loved and cared about him. Such a tragic loss. Sad to hear of the suicide of this young man. Given his abnormal home life in a polygamist family, it is no wonder he was mentally unwell. I don’t doubt that having his families dirty laundry displayed on TV for all to see played a part.
May he rest in peace. Some thing was troubling him , and he took the easy way out.
