Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have officially revealed that Bad Boys 4 is on the way.
Smith and Lawrence took to Instagram to share the news with the caption, "IT'S ABOUT THAT TIME!" The video, which you can see below, follows Smith as he heads to Lawrence's house to celebrate the announcement.
The two show each other some love, and then Smith says, "It's official! Bad Boys 4 Life, baby!" They then jokingly acknowledge that the third Bad Boys film was called Bad Boys for Life and that they probably shouldn't have called it that now that the fourth movie is on its way.
Despite them saying it was called Bad Boys 4 Life, the film is currently untitled. However, Sony Pictures did share that Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be back for this fourth entry and that Chris Bremner will be writing the script. Additionally, it was confirmed that the film is currently in pre-production.
Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrad, and Chad Oman will be producers on the film, while Martin Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman, and Jon Mone will serve as executive producers.
In our review of Bad Boys for Life, we said, "If you've missed big, bombastic, bloody action movies shot with style that lean into their R-rating and rely on cast chemistry rather than solid story then you'll probably love Bad Boys For Life. If not, you might still have a blast as this is certainly a nonstop ultra-violence extravaganza."
The first Bad Boys film was released in theaters in 1995 and Bad Boys II followed it in 2003. It took 17 years for Bad Boys for Life to arrive in 2020, and luckily it appears fans won't have to wait so long for this fourth film.
