Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk- Downtown is the only all-suite hotel located on the Riverwalk. The southern charm of this hotel is a theme carried throughout. The restaurant, Luke, has a New Orleans inspired cuisine and separates itself from the other upscale dining options with an entrance off Houston Street. The location is beautiful stroll to the center of all the activity on the Riverwalk and overlooks the San Antonio arts district; home of the Majestic Theatre and Tobin Center for Performing Arts.

The Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk Downtown is celebrated for its elegant atmosphere and prime location, steps away from Riverwalk and other attractions. Guests frequently commend the spacious rooms and the hotel's friendly staff, alongside the complimentary breakfast that's often described as delicious. However, some reviewers have mentioned cleanliness concerns and variable room conditions. Despite the praise for amenities like the happy hour, opinions on value are mixed, with the cost of valet parking being a common drawback.

Excellent choice of all things breakfast. Delicious fresh fruit served chilled in ice and large ripe bananas. Meats were perfectly cooked and an omelet station filled with everything you want. This was as fine as personsl-order dining! Even something for the non-foodie!

Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay. We are not Hilton members or anything like that, and our basic requirements are a clean room that is taken care of, and for the most part, those needs were met. Our suite style room provided a pleasant space for our four night stay. I enjoyed the city view, and even though the river walk was within view of our balcony, calling it a riverwalk view might be a bit of a stretch. But overall, I'm not complaining about our view. Carpeting and furniture in our room seemed new and not worn, though the bed sheets did show some minor wearing that I think the hotel could keep more on top of.

The hotel is by the quiet/less busy portion of the riverwalk. The portion of the riverwalk with more restaurants and shops is probably no more than 10 minutes away by foot. Other restaurants and stores along Houston St. are less than 5 minutes (highly recommend Bunz right across the street very a very excellent and fresh burger, great chili also). Market Square is about a 15 minute walk. The Alamo probably 15 minutes by foot.

Breakfast was included for free and judging by many recent reviews, many people were less than pleased at the selection. I don't know what the normal pre-COVID expectations might be for some of these snooty yuppies, but I thought the selection of scrambled eggs, sausage links, cereal, apples, or oranges, and various bread or muffins was great. The selection was better than what you might get at a Comfort Inn, so again, if you are a picky eater who expects made to order type of service, you may need to curb your unreasonable expectations. Seriously, if you're complaining about the breakfast here, you probably are a snooty person who is hard to pleased. Get over yourself.

I would say that some of the furniture around the hotel could be upgraded, especially around the pool area. As for the pool, the space is tiny so if a pool trip is what your hoping for, you might opt for a place with a larger pool and more chairs.

I could give this place 4 stars, but overall, I was happy with our room, the breakfast, and how nice the staff was, and that made our stay here very pleasant.

My husband and I visited San Antonio for the second time and stayed at the Embassy Suites on the Riverwalk. It was a wonderful trip. We received great service at the front desk from O'Brian. Our one bedroom suite with the balcony on the 14th floor was beautiful overlooking Downtown San Antonio and the river. Valet parking guys were fun. They brought our car up quickly. We would suggest that these guys unload our luggage on arrival and load luggage into the car when it is time to go to the airport.

As someone who stays in a hotel room 4 months out of the year, I have a pretty good idea of quality of hotel properties. This one does not deserve the high rankings and would caution anyone familiar with Hilton properties to think twice before booking here.
I took my family here for 5 days at end of December and here are a few of the things I noticed during my stay.
Room was unclean. Several of the windows had blown seals and they constantly sweated. Even thought we ran the HVAC 24 hours a day it was still humid in room and air stale. No fan anywhere in room. including bathroom and no way to open window.
Twice we left for entire day only to come back after 5 pm and our room still hadnt been cleaned. I had to track down someone from house keeping to come and service our room.
Valet. Tried calling them every day and never answered the phone. Onetime I sat for 5 minutes and never answered. One day we went down and had to wait 45 minutes for them to get our car. I understand they were busy but 45 minutes seems way to long.
Food.....caution you on the food health safety/cleanliness at the morning breakfast and happy hour service. Saw several instances of unclean/sanitary issues in serving of buffet line. Enough that I stopped eating there after 2nd day.
And finally the service. We left a few items in our room on checkout. We immediately called and were referred to Joe head of housekeeping. We left him 3 voicemails over the next 3 days and received no call back. Then contacted the location the following 5 days, each day being told someone would get back to us, and not onetime did they call us back. I don't expect to recover my items but I do expect the courtesy call back. You have been warned, don't do it, find another place to stay.

I came here for a romantic night with my boyfriend. We preordered the Celebration package, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, and asked about it upon arrival (I honestly hoped/expected it would be waiting for us in the room, but it was not); I was told they'd send it up. I didn't want to be a bother, but about 45 minutes had passed, so I called down and was told it should be on it's way, but they'd call and gett with room service to find out and call me right back. They called back 10 minutes later (it was about 10:55 P.M.) to tell me they couldn't deliver it and would take the cost off of my bill. I had to speak to a manager the next day upon checkout to make sure that happened; seems no notes were made or anything to ensure I didn't pay for the package I didn't get. I went down that night to see if we could find a charger for my boyfriend's phone, and the clerk was telling another, irritated customer that room service closed at 11 PM, though the customer had been told originally that room service ran until 5 AM?; I'd asked for my package, not only when I reserved the room, but at around 9:45-10.

In the morning, we went down for the made to order breakfast. My boyfriend ordered an omelette with sausage, and found when he received it that the meat in the omelette was pink and still ice cold. He took it back to the cook, who just tossed it aside and made him a new one without apology, only for that one to be undercooked as well.

The manager we spoke to afterward was polite and professional, which is appreciated, and the room was beautiful, which I expected for the price and the Hilton name, but overall I was sorely disappointed with the service.

My husband and I used Hilton Honors points for a weekend mini-vacation in San Antonio. My experience with Hilton properties has been great for the most part and I even hold elite status in the loyalty program.

The pros first. The location of the property is excellent for the River Walk and other San Antonio attractions such as the Alamo, and there are plenty of shops, entertainment venues and restaurants all within walking distance. Our visit was around Christmas time and the lobby was beautifully decorated, and the complimentary evening social and complimentary breakfast were nice and consistent with other Hilton properties.

The reason I can't give an excellent rating to this property is that we had some issues with our room pertaining to smells and things not working properly. While this possibly was a one-off, the front desk didn't seem to care and didn't offer any solutions when these concerns were brought to their attention. After writing to corporate, my concerns were acknowledged and somewhat resolved, but this should have been handled at the first point of contact at the local property.

Nevertheless, as I said, this probably was a one-off situation, and my loyalty to the brand will continue.

Highly recommend! The hotel is very nice and we loved the room. Especially a separate bedroom and bathroom. No noise if someone wants to stay up or gets up to use the restroom. The service was impeccable! We had to change our reservation due to illness and Jennifer was extremely helpful, nice and professional in helping us work it out. The location is perfect! We walked to the Alamo and had a nice dinner on the Riverwalk. This was during Covid-19 so some hotel services were limited (grab and go breakfast, limited pool and gym access, etc). It did not deter from our experience. The level of cleaning was amped up and access to hand sanitizer was available.

stayed at the hotel april 12 to 14. very nice and good size rooms. lots of space to relax and spread out luggage. Kitchen is very nice and having the sink in the kitchen area is a plus. shower had low water pressure but sinks did not. Not much on view, only really saw top of part of the hotel. very small view of river. breakfast is very good and has a great selection. nice happy hour. servers are very nice and friendly. used the workout room and treadmills work well. only offers valet parking and can be expensive to some people but you can go out to your vehicle and get anything out of it. very good location but would be nice to stay on the riverwalk all the way to the restaurant's area, street level can get a little sketchy. if you download the app you can message the hotel and use your phone to unlock the room door. nice not to keep up with a card key. overall very nice hotel. always saw employees working to keep hotel looking nice. do be prepared to experience lots of people there as it does host conferences.

We tried to checkin in 15 minutes before 4. Nope they would not have that. Jesus specifically asked what kind room we wanted away from elevators? Quiet? I said yes on all fronts. We were placed right next to the elevators. We could hear every conversation held all hours! Every child running down the halls etc.? Thanks for that Jesus. And he said need anything call down. Well as soon as we got in room at 4:15 there are no luggage racks. We texted down asking for those. Immediately responded. “Sure. “ Three hours later still no luggage racks. Then, our nasty iron ruined our clothes. (Our bad for not Inspecting.) So now 4 hours to get those luggage racks with a new iron. ( that was 45 minutes) The phones in the rooms do not work so you have to use your cell to call the front desk or text them. Then we return after dinner to make up the couch bed and sheets are all dirty in it- disgusting! So now it’s almost midnight child is dead tired and no bed! And dirty sheets! Sorry, they are always in a bag in the closet! This is our seventh week in a hotel during this year of covid. We have not been locked in our house hiding. We had our room serviced every day and we never received toilet paper! We requested it on the texts and got no response. My husband had to go get it from the cart daily! This is ridiculous! When I called down to the front desk asking for a response why no one is answering my text requests? Antoine yelled at me saying he is too busy to answer texts! I said from 24 hours ago? He had no answer! Antoine had no problem yelling at a guest asking for toilet paper! Then people were fighting over towels at the pool and I said I got yelled at by Antoine for those so those are mine. You call and ask him for them! The nightly wine guy was great. The breakfast line was ridiculous because they shortened the hours. The location is great because it is super convenient to everything but away from the crowds in the center near the restaurant area. Wish there were more tables outside. It was our first time to San Antonio totally beautiful. Luckily, we jammed our days with activities that we were exhausted and had a sound machine to drown out all the noise from the hallway!

I wish someone had told me this: the hotel is a 20 minute slowly paced walk to the Hyatt (which is essentially the heart of the Riverwalk 'fun zone'). If you absolutely want to park to be near The Riverwalk shopping plaza and the walk itself, we recommend parking at the Convention center for a one time fee of $10 (mind you, it was a Sunday). It was much cheaper than other locations, so I highly recommend it. On the first night of our stay, we arrived very late at the hotel and splurged on the valet parking. Afterwards, we parked in the lot across the street. One day costs $25.38 which is much cheaper than the $39 plus tip we paid for the only service the hotel offers (Valet Parking). Soon after, the drivers who parked our car, were wearing masks and we inquired about why this was so. One of the workers got Covid and so they masked up.
The hotel has a standard large lobby and the hallways are nice, but the room itself is small for the price we paid. We got a 2 room with Riverwalk view. I had a higher floor but the rooms which end with a 19, or 21 (and I believe one other room) have small vents so the room can get hot at night. The room numbers on the higher floors consist of 4 digits. The fix is to keep the bathroom door closed, so we did. You won't find fancy USB ports here, but the 2 large tvs worked well and the beds were very disappointing in terms of comfort, as was the hide abed (sofa bed). I loved that there was a nice fridge and microwave to store and reheat leftovers, but maid service was hard to find in the halls. We were asked if we wanted someone to enter our room and we specifically said "No thank you" but someone did on two occasions. We were made to feel like we were confused guests who actually requested towels and wanted them put in our room despite the 'do not disturb sign' on the door. It was nonsense. I would recommend to never leave valuables in a hotel room. The front desk employee by the name of Z-- was very "dry" with us and could use a little encouragement to smile and be more hospitable. The valet staff was tremendously friendly and helped us feel like we were on vacation. Next time we will probably opt for another hotel closer to the festivities. Holiday Inn is close by and headed in the right direction towards the restaurant zone while also being on the Riverwalk. If the beds weren't so sunken in at Embassy Suites, I would have rated this hotel higher. Also, the 'fake eggs' were awful, so we skipped the free breakfast.
