This Is Love Lyrics
Vicious words drift away from their meaning
And the sun melts the chill from our lives
Helping us all to remember what we came here for
[Chorus]
This is love, this is la la la la love
This is love, this is la la la la love
[Verse 2]
Little things that will change you forever
May appear from way out of the blue
Making fools of everybody who don't understand
[Chorus]
This is love, this is la la la la love
This is love, this is la la la la love
[Bridge]
This is love
This is love
This is love, this is la la la la love
[Verse 3]
Since our problems have been our own creation
They also can be overcome
When we use the power provided free to everyone
This is love, this is la la la la love
This is love, this is la la la la love
About
“This Is Love” is the third and final commercial (and fifth promotional) single release from Could Nine. It became the fifth consecutive song to appear on the US Rock Chart, peaking at #17 in May 1988.
In 2007, Billboard shared that Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison got together to record a b-side for this final single at the record label’s request. But instead the meeting led to the formation of the supergroup Traveling Wilburys and the song they wrote – “Handle With Care” – became that group’s debut single. “Breath Away From Heaven” was instead chosen as this song’s flipside track.

Harrison shared in 1987:
That’s it, really. It’s all love. Whichever way you look at it, it’s all love. How much you get from each other, and that’s determined by how much you give to each other. But it all starts within ourself, and then it spreads to those around us, good and bad. But basically that’s it. I think it’s the love that we can generate is equal to the love that we get back. Amen.
