I've been obsessed with this album since 2006. I had a burned copy of it for a long time, but I needed an original copy in my life. So glad I found it on Amazon. <3

A sorely overlooked album featuring some notable guest vocalists including Coldplays Martin.. REMS Stipe Flaming lips Wayne Coyne and Joseph Arthur .... this comes across like a Massive Attack or Unkle type project.. moody electronics and slow trippy beats .. the occasional guitar ... the bottom line is the songs and production are all very good .... Where is my boy? and Arthurs wild horses cover are the standouts but pretty much every track works here including Stipes beautiful Greenfields tune and Coynes... Colassal Grey Sunshine... a must own for fans of Massive Attack Unkle Tricky triphop etc .... for my money on par with any of these artists... Shame it came and went without much fanfare as it still sounds good today and had some big names attached to it and more importantly it worked well..

Wonderful album, but this second release does not have the best track from the 2002 edition- the wondrously beautiful JACOB GOLDEN track,
" BITTER KISS". So one point lost for this odd choice.

I came about Faultline by mere chance. I just listened to two excerpts from this album & bought it right there without bothering to listen to the rest. This album is excellent & will appeal to many from a wide spectrum of tastes. It features vocals by Coldplay's chris martin & R.E.M's michael stipe. The songs are mellow & moving, very well produced by kosten too.

Faultline's second album, YOUR LOVE MEANS EVERYTHING, starts off beautifully, with the icy grace of the title track. But this album adds a new texture--vocals--that are both a blessing and a curse. Chris Martin lends his emotion to "Where Is My Boy?" for a haunting track, and Jacob Golden brings a bright falsetto to the folksy "Bitter Kiss." (Though to follow that with the coarse "Waiting for the Green Light" is a major mistake). The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne adds a bit of psychedelia to the otherwise clear, while Michael Stipe turns in a surprisingly touching rendition of the classic "Greenfields." Elsewhere, the instrumentals like "Sweet Iris" and "Theme for Half Speed" show the delicacy to sound and mood that Faultline amply demonstrated on CLOSER COLDER. "Clocks" and "Lost Broadcast" go for a more rock-driven sound--perhaps as a crossover attempt?--but it doesn't feel as well-rendered. Chris Martin once again lends his voice to the reprise of "Your Love Means Everything," bringing together the two halves of the album. A strong attempt, if not totally successful.

David Kosten's instrumentals of this album are all magneficent... but it's the use of vocals in this album that really make it shine. All of the vocals are wonderfully executed and match so well with the instrumentals... You've got the big names such as Chris Martin (Coldplay) and Wayne Coyne (Flaming Lips) but then you also have some artists that aren't well known such as Jacob Golden. Golden's track (Bitter Kiss) in particular shines out for me, his voice is unlike anything I've ever heard... This is a wonderful album.

Unbelievably good.
Closer, Colder was an experimental evolution of hip-hop and electronica, and I love it, but this album is the hights of perfection. Part DJ Shadow, part Air, part Coldplay, this is an album reaching for the stars.
The vocal tracks, featuring an A list of musical talent, are outstanding, but the instrumental songs are without question, beautiful.
Sweet Iris is a look into mine own soul. And Clocks, Faultline's Clocks, always gets my mind beating in tune. The Collosal Grey Sunshine is my favorite track, and one of my favorite songs of all time.
David Kosten is a rising star, one to look for, but not look at.

my english is not good enough to tell the beauty of this album.I like depressive, melancholic music and to hear that genre from the best stars of rock like michael stipe(R.E.M),chris martin (Coldplay) is really amazing.I couldn't understand why the other user rated this album 1 star. You should buy it if you want to hear something good.

I only bought this CD because Chris Martin from Coldplay guests on two tracks. He has an amazing voice which is perfectly showcased on the 2nd track "where is my boy ?" This is one of the tracks which saves the album.
Another is the 4th. A beautiful song with a beautiful guest vocal from Jacob Golden called "bitter Kiss".
Micheal Stipe does his bit to help out too on the cover version "Greenfields", another haunting track with a faultless vocal.
David Kosten certainly knew what he was doing when he sat down and wrote his list of choices for the guest vocals, as another standout track is "The Colossal Gray Sunshine" sung by Wayne Coyne from The Flaming Lips.
In between we have Kosten's minimalist soundscapes and noises which is all well and good, however you have to be in exactly the right mood/situation. I suggest a contemplative mood, eyes closed and in the dark.

フランス人かと見まごうばかりの気だるさを含む雰囲気。
いざヴォーカルが入るとその雰囲気は一変、胸が苦しくなる程の「泣き」系に。
