Whether your kids have been naughty or nice, chances are one of the holiday traditions they love best—along with trimming the tree and curling up on the couch and watching Christmas movies—is sending their wish list to the North Pole. But while once upon a time they had to mail their toy requests in a letter, now they can reach out simply by dialing Santa Claus's phone number! You know he's busy this time of year, but he'll still make time to talk to boys and girls. Here's how to reach him by phone.

What is Santa's Phone Number in 2023?

It turns out that Santa has a personal hotline, and he loves hearing from boys and girls around the world. Here in the United States, the number to reach Ol' Saint Nick is (605) 313-4000.

While standard calling and messaging rates may apply, the service is otherwise free to use. Santa's Hotline is the brainchild of FreeConferenceCall.com, which runs the hotline 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All you need to do to access it simply dial the hotline number and listen for the voicemail to pick up. Kids young and old will love to hear Santa's hearty "Ho! Ho! Ho!" and his wishes for a "Merry Christmas!"

Santa also says he's busy making "all of those toys to deliver on Christmas morning," tells the caller that their family loves them very much, and so does he, and asks them to leave their "Christmas gift wishes and holiday cheer" at the tone. There's also a reminder that Santa knows who's been naughty and nice, and the gentle request that kids "be good" and "don't forget to always listen" to their parents. Just be sure to use a cell phone to make the call, because shortly after your child leaves their voicemail for Santa, Santa will text back with a phone number. It allows you to access "your elf's secret wish list."

Santa's Hotline, which debuted in 2009, is now available in a whopping 22 time zones and 18 countries. Last year, it was predicted that 10 million people would give the chubby fellow in the red suit a holler. That's a whole lot of families with a whole new way of celebrating Christmas, and really, are there ever too many ways to experience joy during the holiday?
