The largest running event in Finland, Helsinki City Running Day takes place on Saturday the 11th of May 2024 and fills the streets of Helsinki and the Helsinki Olympic Stadium. Helsinki City Running Day attracts 15 000 runners from over 80 nations and combines five running distances in one day. There is something for everyone; Finland’s largest half marathon Helsinki City Run, the legendary 44th Saucony Helsinki City Marathon, Saucony Helsinki City Marathon Relay which features a great team spirit, the short but sweet Ice Power Helsinki City 5. The novelty of 2024 is Ice Power Helsinki City 5 Walk, a 5 k walk without timing. Also, completing the half marathon and marathon on the same day is possible, the event is called Helsinki City Double.
The event is kicked off by the adorable Minimarathon on Friday afternoon. Minimarathon Family Run offers the child’s guardian the opportunity to participate in the fun run together with the child.

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Helsinki Olympic Stadium, the day before the race day or on the race day 1 hour prior your start.
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
Yes. Just provide your qr-code to the person who is collecting your race pack.
How do I get to the race location?
From the city centre you can either walk or use the public transportation. From Elielinaukio (railway station) all the busses goes near the Olympic Stadium. Also you can take a tram 2, 4 or 10 which all are going to the Olympic Stadium. The name of the stop is Töölön Kisahalli / Töölö Sports Hall or Oopperatalo / Opera huset.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Yes you can. If you are already registered in an event but you’d rather take part in another distance the same day, please send us email: [email protected]. You will get instructions to pay the price difference between the events. If you want to change it to cheaper event we will not return the price difference.
