There are plenty of places to eat and have a drink so you needn’t worry about eating beforehand.
I was genuinely impressed with all of the flowers from all parts of the world and how they are displayed together.

I took the short journey on the MRT to the Botanical Gardens and so pleased that I did. The weather was a bit temperamental but I there was shelter from the rains and when they stopped carried on with the walk. Lots of lovely pathway and walks throughout the gardens. A very tranquil place to be and then you hear the cockerels which isn’t so bad as just completely unexpected. Over 3000 varieties 2000 of which are natively grown in Singapore. My wife was in heaven and she’s an orchid lover! The design is set up so that you can see what flora and fauna grow at higher elevations, and the place has been designed to mimic the natural habitat. If you are an orchid lover, this place is perfect for you to see a lot of them. It also helps when it is hot outside that the inside is nice and cool. Take your time, read and see everything here. Then leave at 7:30pm and go down to see the free Spectra Light Show. Afterward, have a dinner at the food court, and stroll through the Helix Bridge to finish the day. It's worth a look even if you can't afford the prices. Some decently priced restaurants along the strip, however, with great food. You go, just to say you've seen.
