Anikita Ivanovich Repnin (1668-3 July 1726) was a Russian prince and Field Marshal.

Biography[]

Repnin was one of the collaborators of Peter the Great, Tsar of the Russian Empire and took part in the Azov Campaign of 1696. Although he was defeated at the Battle of Holowczyn, he took part in all of the principal engagements of the Great Northern War and in 1710 became Governor of Riga. In 1724 he succeeded Aleksandr Menshikov as War Minister until his death two years later.
