This is actually a very listenable piece, a much more enjoyable set of songs than 'it begins again'. While the production and sound very much leans towards easy listening, pop soul and is provided by slick, 70s LA session players, Dusty's performance remains classy and confident throughout.
This is really nice, Side 2 in particular is a bit of a joy. Unfortunately the album bombed, possibly due to her cancelling her tour and some off the cuff remarks that upset a certain member of the Royal family.

deserves a second hearing
If there is any album by Springfield that deserves a second chance and more than just one listen, this is it. Unfortunately, it opens with a rather uninspired cover of "You've Really Got A Hold On Me," but once you get past that, the remaining nine tunes are extremely well done. Springfield runs the gamut of her vocal range and talents, and alternates between all of her musical charms. From sultry to strong, from playful to melancholy. It is all here. The orchestration is always tight and pleasing and the additional background vocals by the great Brenda Russell as well as Dianne and Pattie Brooks complement Springfield's evocative voice. I have been listening to this album for over 40 years now and it still resonates. I just always skip the first track.

If the singer wasn't Dusty Springfield then this would just be a typically unremarkable slick LA '70s production job. As it is she manages to bring out the best in the songs, endowing them with her special magic. The best is saved for last on the closing track "I'm Coming Home Again".
