Karl Quinn Sydney Morning Herald What [Amy] Berg brings to the table far more than Serial did is a sense of Hae as a person (through diary excerpts and animations), and the ongoing torture this case represents for her family. Nov 27, 2019 Full Review Graeme Blundell The Australian Berg, much as the creators of the hugely successful Making a Murderer did, presents new discoveries, as well as revelations that challenge the state's case, featuring exclusive access to Syed and the defence team. Apr 25, 2019 Full Review Suzi Feay Financial Times Losing sight of the victim is not a mistake Berg intends to make... It becomes clear that the lively Hae Min Lee's ostensibly ordinary life was hemmed by shadows. Rated: 4/5 Apr 1, 2019 Full Review Carissa Pavlica TV Fanatic The four-episode series does a lot to remind everyone involved that justice will only be done when everyone with relevant evidence is heard in full and Hae's killer is convicted without a reasonable doubt. Rated: 4/5 Nov 27, 2019 Full Review Rohan Naahar Hindustan Times You'll have to slog over three hours of revision before the Case Against Adnan Syed introduces any new information - and even that can't help but feel anticlimactic. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 4, 2019 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba Look: I still don't know whether Adnan Syed killed Hae Min Lee, and The Case Against Adnan Syed is wickedly one-sided, and yet it is an absolute travesty. klr d This is the type of true crime doc that draws me in. Very well crafted. Sure, it has a bias, but most true crime docs do. Well worth the time investment. At least 4 stars. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Best documentary, done by an amazingly compassionate woman Amy Berg, Exposing a corrupt justice system, cups, and attorneys.
