The Kelly Clarkson Show Season 5: Everything We Know - Parade Skip to main content

After being delayed by the five-month writers' strikeKelly Clarkson's daytime Emmy Award-winning talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, is returning for its fifth season on Oct. 16. As announced earlier this year, there will be a big change when the program returns, too: Filming has moved from the west coast to the Big Apple.

An NBCUniversal spokesperson confirmed to TODAY at the time that the talk show will "film in the iconic studio 6A, former home for late night talk show hosts Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman and Conan O’Brien."

The spokesperson added, "The investment includes the cost of a new state-of-the-art studio, technical facility and support space."

From the program's new home to its release date, here is everything we know about Season 5 of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Where is The Kelly Clarkson Show taped?

Filming has taken place at the Universal Studios Lot in California since the show debuted in 2019. But starting in its fifth season, the show will be taped in New York.

According to TODAY, the move from Los Angeles to New York City is the result of New York’s Film Tax Credit. The NBCUniversal spokesperson explained that as "part of the program’s expansion, New York now provides an incentive to eligible television series that relocate to New York and reduces the eligibility requirements for talk and variety shows from five years of filming to two years of filming."
