What an Impact!
Congratulations to Kieran Weldon and Jayne Leckie from our Development team whose work on our inaugural Giving Day has been recognised by the University with a CCDC Impact Award.
The awards showcase outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations and fundraising across the collegiate community.
The award judges praised Kieran and Jayne for their extensive and creative use of digital media throughout the 36-hour campaign and their success in engaging new donors to give to College.
“We were thrilled with how well the Giving Day was received by our alumni. It generated a very positive feel in and around College. Thanks to this support we managed to exceed all our targets, including increasing our number of donors target by 87%,” said Kieran Weldon, Senior Development Officer.
Alongside the production of 12 videos, Kieran and Jayne also managed all email and social media communication throughout the event. “From Fellows enjoying a Giving Day cupcake in the MCR, to students completing a rowing challenge and alumni sending in memories and videos about their time at Downing, it was wonderful to see the event gain momentum and all areas of the College community becoming involved," said Jayne Leckie, Alumni Communications Officer.
"It was such a fun and interesting project to work on and to receive this award really is the icing on the cake.”
