About the author
Scottish by birth, Gordon Ramsay was brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, and initially aspired to be a professional soccer player but an injury put an end to that and led him to the kitchen. He's trained with some of the world’s leading chefs, such as Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White in London, and Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon in France. At the age of 31, Ramsay set up his first wholly owned and namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which quickly received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world – three Michelin stars.
Now internationally renowned, Ramsay has opened restaurants around the globe including in London, Las Vegas, Singapore, Baltimore, Europe and Dubai. Ramsay has also become a star of the small screen with hit shows in both the UK & US. From Gordon, Gino & Fred on ITV, Gordon Ramsay's Bank Balance on BBC to FOX's MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Hell's Kitchen & 24 Hours to Hell and Back as well National Geographic's Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted which airs in 172 countries.
Ramsay has seen success in a variety of other ventures outside of restaurants and television including his online MasterClass, and Mobile Puzzle Game, "Chef Blast with Gordon Ramsay." This is in addition to his highly successful YouTube channel that has various cooking formats including his widely popular series "Ramsay in 10" & "Scrambled." Ramsay also loves to TikTok with his daughter Tilly.
In 2006, in recognition of all that Ramsay has contributed to the industry, he received an OBE (Order of the British Empire awarded by Queen Elizabeth II). Since then, Ramsay and his wife, Tana, set up the Gordon and Tana Ramsay Foundation in 2014, to make a meaningful difference to the London-based children's hospital Great Ormond Street.

The book is interesting, the recipes are on flip cards in order of course so at any given time you will see a full three course meal with appetizers, dinner, and dessert listed on any given page. The flip cards allow for you to change a dish on your menu by flipping that section through to arrange things. You can choose from each course and have all three in front of you at all times, which is absolutely a joy to work through. Roast chicken with a passion fruit dessert? Maybe try the millefeuille instead that night and complete your menu with ease.
The book also has great pictures and a back section that gives you run through a of all the basics such as stocks and sauces and explains them in simple terms. I’ll be enjoying working through this book and changing things up as I go.

Also, if you are looking for a healthy cookbook, this is definitely that. I really looked through the recipes looking for something fatting and unhealthy, and I was hard-pressed to find that. These recipes are simple, clean eating, and fun to make. I started off by making the Salmon En Croute and it turned out perfectly. The hardest part was skinning my salmon (a tip on easily doing that would have been helpful, but I figured it out by looking on youtube). I definitely recommend this book as a go too for outstanding menus...or just impressing your family.
I LOVE the format of the book... apps on the top, entree's in the middle and dessert at the bottom, but all separated so that you can look at an appetizer at the beginning, an entree on the last page and a dessert in the middle all at the same time! Love it! What I really like is that I can now make things I never thought possible, like a directions on how to make rizotto, or any of the other things he makes on Hell's Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares.
I absolutely recommend this book! I can't wait to start making recipes from his book!

I really like the format of the book, which is a tall book structured around menu pages, but with each page split horizontally into three, with first courses at the top of all pages, second courses in the middle and third courses at the bottom. This means you can, if you wish, set up your own menu with all three courses open in front of you at once.
This relies on an excellent index (which the book has) to be useful.
It only takes a few minutes to get your head around the format. Once I 'got' it, I've become a fan.
Non tutti i libri di cucina poi hanno un'immagine per ciascuna ricetta riportata.
Ci vorrà del tempo per testare le varie ricette, ma per ora quelle già affrontate si sono rivelate deliziose.
