Blake Shelton may have his eyes on Hollywood again. While Shelton is already a fixture on concert stages and was a long-time host and mentor on The Voice, a recent purchase at an auction reveals that he may crave more time on the silver screen.

The famed country artist was honored for his charitable works at the Keep Memory Alive’s 27th Annual Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas on May 10. The evening included a live auction and one item caught Shelton’s eye—a walk-on role in a future movie alongside actor Mark Wahlberg. The opportunity cost a cool $40,000 donation, but apparently Shelton thought that it was worth throwing that chunk of change for his shot at a career in Hollywood (plus the money went to a good cause).

When Shelton took the stage at the charity gala, he couldn’t help but warn the audience that a career change may be in his future. "I don't know if you guys saw the auction earlier. This is maybe the last time I'm ever gonna perform country music," he joked on stage, according to Wide Open Country. "I'm a movie star now."

Undoubtedly the crowd appreciated the opportunity to see him perform a cover of "Sweet Caroline," in addition to hits like "Sangria" and "Ole Red" before Shelton left his country music career behind. He also performed the duet "Nobody But You" with his wife, Gwen Stefani.

While Shelton was certainly joking about leaving country music, he may want to return to film and television. He left The Voice in 2023, but the show had a huge impact on his life. He met Stefani in 2015 when they were both coaches on the NBC singing competition. They were later married on July 3, 2021, at Shelton's Oklahoma ranch with Voice host Daly officiating the nuptials. Can you blame him for considering a return to Hollywood?
