Detroit Edison Public School Academy - High School Reviews
Rating 4.19 out of 5 83 reviews
Overall, I had a really good experience at Detroit Edison Public School Academy - High School. Academically, the school was excellent, giving me a solid foundation that helped me become ready for college. The sports teams were also excellent, which added to the lively extracurricular environment. The school's family-friendly atmosphere and sense of community were two of my favorite parts of the experience. My classmates and teachers and I had a close bond, and the administration was a big part of making this happen. As a student, I felt heard and appreciated because of their assistance and availability. However, I thought the school could do better in a few areas. The extracurricular activities offered were not very diverse, especially for seniors, even though the academic and sports programs were very good.I felt that seniors didn't have as many options for engagement and involvement outside of academics and sports when I graduated. Overall, my experience here was one to remember.
I had an overall good experience at Detroit Edison. I would say that the girls basketball team made the experience even better. I appreciate how there are rarely issues within the students and how everyone, for the most part, gets along. For change, I would like to see more classes that deal with life skills. An example of this would be teaching us how to do our taxes. That is one of the “biggest things in life” and coming out of high school not knowing, is a problem.
As a senior at Detroit Edison Public School Academy, my experience has been transformative and enriching. The supportive and diverse community at DEPSA has fostered an environment where I have not only grown academically but also personally. The dedicated educators have inspired me to push my intellectual boundaries and explore my passions.
Additionally, the vibrant cultural atmosphere at DEPSA has broadened my worldview, fostering an appreciation for diversity and inclusion. The unique programs and initiatives have contributed to a dynamic learning experience that extends beyond the traditional classroom setting.
In conclusion, my senior year at Detroit Edison Public School Academy has been a period of growth, learning, and community engagement. I am grateful for the support and opportunities provided, preparing me for the next chapter in my academic and personal journey.
