The Group Stage
Across nine host cities, the 24 teams of the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019™ started their journey on 7 June.
With the top two teams of each group and the four best third-placed teams advancing to the knockout phase, the group stage delivered plenty of thrilling moments.
While all favorites went through, Brazil struggled to qualify but finally did so as the top-performing third-placed team. In contrast, Copa America runners-up Chile fell short in the third-place standings, with Nigeria progressing thanks to their win against Korea Republic in Group A.
