One of 4 Woofits books that were created + written by journalist + broadcaster Michael Parkinson. Cute stories, cast of characters(Elton, Angela, Gershwin, etc.) and most adorable illustrations! The illustrations in fact have had more of a lasting impact than the stories. In point of fact, the Woofits were an early 1980's international phenomena. The merchandise tie-ins were tremendous and overwhelming. Among the countries(besides the UK) that brought these characters to stratospheric heights were France, Spain and Canada. It all started in 1980 and would last six years. Other books in the series would be helmed by Jacqueline Guyof, Roger Hutchins, and others. After 1985, a Woofit dry spell. A plush doll in 1988, a pre-school named after them in 1989. So, why weren't the books reprinted? There were many recordings that came out and at least one issued on CD in 2014. The books had a short life but the illustrations(that were signed by ?Woofit) will live on forever.
