Denny S A cheapie, independent musical shot in 1944 featuring performers who were on the way up (Woody Herman) and on the way down (Eleanor Powell, W.C. Fields, Sophie Tucker). This was Fields' last appearance on film and he was not in good shape. Reportedly, he could not remember his lines, so his shaky sequence was cut and replaced by Fields simply ad-libbing around a couple of nightclub acrobats. Pathetic to watch him reduced to this.
