Israeli actress Shira Haas, star of the hit Netflix series “Unorthodox,” has nabbed another leading role at the online platform for an upcoming adaption of the graphic novel “Bodies.”

According to Deadline, Haas is set to play DC Maplewood, one of four detectives investigating the same murder across four separate time periods in London: the 1890s, 1940s, 2010s and a post-apocalyptic 2050.

Haas will star alongside Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire), Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen’s Gambit), Kyle Soller (The Inheritance) and Amaka Okafor (The Responder).

“Bodies,” created by the late Si Spencer, who died in February 2021, is being adapted as an eight-part series by Paul Tomalin. Filming has already begun in the old town of Hull, a port city in England.

Haas found her fame when she debuted as Ruchami Weiss on the hit Israeli series “Shtisel.” She received a Best Actress nomination at the Golden Globes for her role as Esther Shapiro in the series “Unorthodox” and won an Independent Spirit Award for that role.

Last year, Haas was brought on to star as Golda Meir, Israel’s only female prime minister, in TV series “Lioness” produced by Barbara Streisand.
