Jennifer Garth and Dave Abrams are nearing their 10th wedding anniversary, after tying the knot in 2015. But the actress recently opened up about the transition to husband and wife, admitting it was a slow process even after tying the knot, largely because of her three daughters.

Why Jennie Garth Refused To Live With Her Husband After Marriage

During the most recent episode of Jennie’s podcast I Choose Me with Jennie Garth, the couple explained they wanted her kids to feel comfortable with Dave in the house but didn’t want to push anything. Even after they married, Dave would sleep in the guest room when the kids were staying over.

“No, we waited. When the kids were home, I slept in the guest room,” Dave said, explaining how they didn’t live together even after marrying. Luckily, the transition sounds quick. "It feels like it was, literally like warp speed. I went from that to stepdad.”

Jennifer interjected to say, "But I think because we did fast-track everything, there was a lot of learning and growing on both our parts, but mostly your part."

"I mean in like, having a family and having all these responsibilities put upon you and having to model for the kids a certain behavior," she went on. "And just you and I getting on the same page about parenting."

Jennie Has Three Kids From Her Past Marriage

Jennie Garth is currently on her third marriage. She was first married to musician Daniel B. Clark in 1994, though their union only lasted two years. She met her future husband Pete Facinelli in 1995 while filming An Unfinished Affair. They tied the knot in 2001, and have three daughters together – Luca (born in 1997), Lola (born in 2002), and Fiona (born in 2006). After a decade of marriage, the pair announced their divorce in 2012, though it was finalized the following year.

The What I Like About You actress has admitted to being blindsided by Peter’s desire to end their marriage.

"My husband was away a lot then, working across the country on location on a film that he'd written, was producing, and was starring in," she said in her memoir Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde, released in 2014.

"The ground that had been cracking and shifting finally split open and pretty much swallowed me whole: Peter came home, and told me that he didn't think he wanted to be married to me any longer, and he though it best that we separate so that we could get a better sense of where we stood with each other,” she continued.

While Jennie went on to marry Dave several years later, their marriage almost ended in 2018 when they made a divorce filing. However, the couple appeared to reconcile the following year and remain married to this day.
