He should stay, even if he leaves with Reah, he returns after visiting a few areas in the game and doesn't leave again. Even if you confront him with the information from Lautrec, I don't think he leaves.

Nothing really. He’s waiting for the other clerics to arrive and killing Capra Demon happens to be the trigger for the event. Same as how Siglund’s golem only shows up after you move Sigmeyer to Firelink.

Nothing he sells is unique, and his prices are quite high. Unless you're going to need to buy from him in the very narrow window between him and the other people selling his stuff cheaper becoming available, I wouldn't worry about it.

You can get to Anor without killing Capra?
Take the master key, ring first bell, go through valley of the drakes for back netrance to blight town (skipping the sewars and therefore need to kill capra) ring second bell. Make way through sens fortress as normal and profit. I may be mis-remembering which locations connect to which other locations exactly, but yes, it's absolutely possible.
Can you get to the valley on the other end without the master key?
Oh man. I always skip the top of Blight Town on subsequent runs, yet always auto pilot to Capra Demon. Feel like a right tit now.
For me, two other guys and a girl showed up, likely his party, but they left later. I talked to him and I believe he lost them or got left behind. Either way, he stayed there for the whole game for me.
Pretty sure he is lying about losing them and is just a coward. Also I think he does something or at least has some more dialogue if you can get the girl back to the cathedral in Parish?

I always talk to him any time I go up and down firelink, then the chick and his two buddies show up and I talk to them, then they go down to the tomb of the giants and she’s trapped in the pit patches throws you in, with his hollowed buddies near him. After coming back from down there he always goes hostile on me.

He disappears if you talk to him after beating Capra demon. And if you don’t the whole gang is gonna stay there until you kill Pinwheel
