Daren Lu, Mount Vernon High School valedictorian 2023

It was because this school has so many opportunities for all of us. I was inducted into the International Baccalaureate Programme as a Diploma Candidate and I’ve got to say, I was a little nervous to take those classes. But I’ve got no regrets. Thank you, Mount Vernon High School, for the opportunities you have provided me and the rest of the students.

Lesley Iyamu, Mount Vernon High School salutatorian 2023

As the Class of 2023, we have witnessed both the best and the worst of times but in those moments of uncertainty, it was the educators who pointed us in the direction of success that helped us discover our purpose and find our voices. Our teachers, beloved by many, played an instrumental role in our growth.

Lesley Iyamu, Mount Vernon High School salutatorian 2023

Abigail Swift, Denzel Washington School of the Arts salutatorian 2023

The word is much bigger than you can imagine. Class of 2023, you are capable of much more than you think. Always strive for more. Congratulations Class of 2023!
