Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- TaylorsouthwestTaunton, UK271 contributionsLovely beach with restaurant, cafe, toilets. Sand and fine shingle and tiny pebbles. Good for swimming. Families happily playing. In the afternoon lots of students from the local uni came down so very busy and not too much privacy space between groups for private conversation but it was a gd atmosphere and we enjoyed 3 days sat on the beach.Written 11 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul FChesterfield, UK4,207 contributionsLiving on the opposite coast is ok but often the sea is a little rougher to swim in. Swanpool especially in the Summer months however is usually calmer and ideal for a swim.
Good parking, a cafe and fabulous restaurant all easily accessible from the beach. If interested in kayaks, sup etc they have a good rental hire business as well.Written 19 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Relatively unspoilt and protected as part of the National Trust they ooze character.
The charming houses clutter around the small pebble beach, which has lovely views.
Worth the walk for sure.Written 8 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. More shingle than sand but nice enough to pop a towel on and get some sea air.Written 10 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah D3 contributionsLovely beach, and cafe that serves nice food. Bit pebbly at times so bring waterproof shoes. Good to build sand castles.Written 1 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JannerblokePlymouth, UK13,170 contributionsVariously known as Sunny Cove and Arthur’s Beach, not very far out of Falmouth between Swanpool and Meanporth. Although on the maps, the approaches to the beach are not blindingly obvious. The WWII Home Guard Memorial was a reassuring marker that we had found the right track. There are good descriptions of how to get down there on the website linked to this listing. It’s a pebble beach so tricky to get a parasol or windbreak to stand up.. it’s a lovely spot to relax, picnic, read etc. Regular naturist contingent but not exclusive. Occasionally yachts anchor off shore here because it’s a good place to swim.
Listing could do with photos.Written 21 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Access to the beach is down a sloping path, with a few steps at the bottom, but parking can be a problem as the only near-by parking available (apart from the car parks in the town) is on the high-level Cliff Road at the back of the beach. Seasonal refreshment facilities are available. If you have a dog, as we do, they are welcome from 1 September to 30 June but are not allowed on the beach between the hours of 10.00 and 18.00 from 1 July to 31 August. Apart from the interesting rock pools, Castle Beach also offers stunning views of Pendennis Point and over Falmouth BayWritten 24 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
