Columbia College Chicago Reviews

My experience at Columbia College Chicago has been pretty good so far. One thing that the school takes notable pride in are their professors who actively continue to work in the industry related to the courses they teach. The professors are able to come back to the classroom and share real-time knowledge and experience of the current arts industries, and you can rely on them for receiving the proper education and experience needed to exceed outside of Columbia. With specific majors, you have countless opportunities to connect and network with other peers within the same major and learn from others as well. Honestly, what I would like to see changed, is seeing Columbia efficiently structure programs and readjust tuition rates to be able to deliver on their promise of what they offer as an art school and the quality of education they promise.
For the most part, I've been enjoying my time at Columbia College Chicago. I love the overall energy of the school itself, I've met quite a few people who have direct ties to, if not are actively working in, the field I'd like to go into--That being traditional animation--and have plenty of other fellow artists and animators on the same wavelength as me.
Truth be told, the only consistent gripe I have with the school is how expensive it is to go. It makes sense considering all the resources they have, but it would be nice if, say, the school had some sort of partnership with the Metra station like some other nearby colleges do that makes it a cost a little less to use it to get to school and back (especially now with the increase in metra fare for no real reason outside of getting more money out of everyone), or if they had some housing options that either was covered partly by the school and financial aid, or otherwise had a much more affordable compared to all the other options.

I absolutely love this school. If you want to go into the arts and be located in Chicago, you should go here. The people here are amazing and incredibly talented. There are a bunch of different clubs that focus on hobbies and sports. They have an interesting selection of classes and focus on different topics, varying in semesters. The teachers here want you to succeed and are still active in the creative fields they teach. One thing I would say, however, is that there should be more sections in the classes since so many students often find themselves on a waiting list.
