After a tumultuous start to his college career, former four-star recruit Mikey Williams committed to UCF, he announced on Instagram on Friday.

Williams originally committed to Memphis while ranked as the No. 49 recruit in the 2023 class by ESPN. He was an internet sensation during his prep career who gained millions of social media followers.

Williams was arrested last spring and charged with nine felonies for assault with a deadly weapon. His lawyers negotiated a plea deal that kept him out of prison. He is required to complete 80 hours of community service in addition to rehabilitation classes.

Williams entered the transfer portal earlier this week. According to a statement from Williams' attorney Troy P. Owens sent to Yahoo Sports' Jeff Eisenberg, Memphis showed that the guard rejoining the team following the conclusion of his court case was "not a priority."

UCF is 10-4 to begin its first-ever season in the Big 12 and fresh off defeating No. 3 Kansas on its home floor.
