Two men shot in Newburgh: One dead, one in critical condition

CITY OF NEWBURGH - One man is dead and one is in critical condition following a shooting late Monday night in the city of Newburgh.

City police said officers responded to Hasbrouck Street for a 911 report of shots fired at about 11:20 p.m. Monday.

They arrived and found two victims: a 25-year-old resident of Rock Tavern who was dead from a gunshot wound, and a 20-year-old resident of the town of New Windsor who was in critical condition.

Police provided emergency medical care for the 20-year-old victim on the scene before he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. His injuries are considered life-threatening, police said.

Police did not release the name of either victim, nor did they say anything about a suspect or a possible motive for the shootings.
