Lauren Carroll Harris Guardian Grounded in that reality, the comedic tone is murky-funny: not connecting with your mothers' group, shifting your identity, losing your friends, negotiating your relationship -- these aren't always easy laughs. Jul 29, 2019 Full Review Lucy Hunter Johnston London Evening Standard Whether you see The Letdown as horror or hilarious is likely to depend on how near you are to the baby-making stage of life. Either way, it's addictive viewing. Jun 19, 2019 Full Review Debi Enker The Age (Australia) Written with humour, heart and truth by Bell and Sarah Scheller and perfectly paced...it offers many pleasures, including Noni Hazlehurst as the seen-it-all-before maternal health nurse and Patrick Brammall, hilarious as a local drug dealer. Aug 17, 2018 Full Review Alex Holder Refinery29 Mums are evidently looking to be understood and The Letdown definitely holds a mirror up to middle-class mumdom, bodily fluids and all. Jun 19, 2019 Full Review Ben Neutze The Daily Review/Crikey What's clear from the first episode is that it manages to capture the sense of isolation, fear and guilt that can come with parenthood, with strong impact. May 22, 2018 Full Review Alison de Souza The Straits Times (Singapore) This is top-notch TV that deserves a bigger global audience. Rated: 4/5 May 22, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

K Y This is exactly what we are experiencing! As new immigrants, we have no family in Australia and we have no idea how to connect with the community support. I recommend it to everyone who wants to have a baby for getting a correct mind set and expectations about what they will experience in the future. It is a tough period. I am exhausted. I can stand this anymore but I have to because taking a good care of a little baby is my responsibility as a mom. …. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Alison Bell serves us a refreshing Australian-comedy with a hint of awkward parent energy. The Letdown perfectly depicts the lives of those others whom aren't quite on top of things. This piece definitely gave me some good laughs. And a taste of parenthood. It's a must watch! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing show...love how real it is...hope there's a new season...watching the first one for the third time already Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic series that presents an honest and hilarious take on new motherhood. Can't wait for second season! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing what passes for entertainment these days. Sad to see that the nuttiness has spread to even Australia.
