Unfortunately we were scheduled for a tour and ended up missing it due to traffic construction and there were no other tours available that day. So we toured on our own. I would highly recommend if you are in the Houston area to visit the Space Center. There is such a wealth of information and exhibits. You need to allow yourself at least 4-5 hours (probably longer if you take the tram tour) in order to be able to see and experience everything. The spacesuit collection is awesome and represents the spacesuits used throughout the years. You need to make sure you visit Independence Plaza and go inside the shuttle replica which is mounted on top of the NASA 905 shuttled carrier aircraft. I found the wall with photos of all the astronauts from the very first shuttle mission very interesting and spent quite a bit of time just looking at how the space program has evolved from only one or two astronauts to now teams of quite a few more. Make sure you visit the gift shop, they had "space food" and I ended up buying two Freeze Dried Ice Cream Pops for my great grandchildren and shipped them to the kids. They were so excited to get space food. I was curious what they would taste like and the kids told me "Grandma they tasted like ice cream". Definitely worth going to visit.

We're museum members and came to see the exhibit "Vertigo of Color" showcasing the art of Matisse and Derain as they explored the genre of Fauvism. The paintings in the exhibit are beautiful, mostly set in a small French seaside town where the artists spent their summer. Lots of bold strokes and vivid, saturated colors like bright oranges, hot pinks, purples, and turquoise. Apparently this was considered quite daring back in the day. Fauvism was new to me, so I appreciated learning about it. My favorite was Matisse's Open Window that focuses on a view of sailboats through an open window. I also loved "Woman with a Shawl" that was painted by Derain and features Matisse's wife as the model. The museum itself is fantastic and spread across three large buildings connected by a tunnel system. It's free on Thursdays if you want to just go in and explore. Don't miss James Turrell's light tunnel called "The Light Inside" as you pass from one building to another. The permanent collection is impressive - European art, Asian art, Islamic art, African art - there's really something for everyone. We parked in the parking garage attached to the museum. I'd recommend plugging the address into your GPS because it's a bit hard to find. There's also an outdoor sculpture garden - don't miss the bean sculpture called "Cloud Column" - and a nice cafe where you can grab a bite to eat. For tourists or locals, this is a great place to explore and beat the summer heat.

Excellent zoo! The usual animals, like elephants and giraffes, are nicely displayed. There's lovely, shaded walking paths. Takes at least 2 hours to walk around.
In addition to the typical animals, there's an aquarium in the Galaogos Islands exhibit!
    Don't miss it!
Only criticism is parking lots are enormous. It would be helpful to have numbered signs or signs with different animals posted to help find your car after your zoo visit.

Great food and beautiful ball stadium. My husband and I took our young grandsons to watch the Blue Jays and had dinner there. We sat once on the first base line, low down and one in the mid-section of left field. I preferred the higher seats.as you could see more. We had nachos and hot dogs, all good. The only downside is that the wine was TERRIBLE. We went two nights, and had a glass each, both equally bad.

The ballpark staff were very helpful and friendly and it was really easy to get in and out, even after the game.

We had a great visit here on our trip to Houston. Our 5 year old loved the entire place! There is a lot of variety here for kids of all ages. Large enough to fit all the people. There were a lot of people on a busy Saturday, however our daughter got to do everything she wanted to do with no wait time. Great place to check out. Prices are reasonable for the amount of activities. You could literally stay all day if you wanted.

The fit of the dress is also fantastic. I am quite petite and often struggle to find dresses that fit me well. However, this dress comes in different sizes, including petite, which was a game-changer for me. The dress hugs my body in all the right places without being too tight or uncomfortable. The length is also perfect, hitting right above my knees, making it appropriate for both work and social events.

Fantastic niche museum! My wife and I spent more than 2 hours to do everything, including their quiz. Very informative and a huge collection of hearses and artifacts. Admission was very reasonable for what you got. I doubt it could hold a child's interest, but even adults that don't think they will be interested are in for a surprise!

I grow milkweed in pots and raise monarch butterflies in my backyard and love to see the other species at the Butterfly Center.

World class museums can be found here, and there are several close together. If you have a lot of time and plan to visit more than one, you can park your car and walk among them. Together they form a very pretty part of town.

The exhibit was very moving and showed the history of the Jewish persecution from the beginning of Nazi's rise in power all the way liberation. There are plenty of documentaries and artifacts throughout the tour. A lot of descriptive placards in both English and Spanish.
It took about 3h for me to finish the entire tour. I like many of the exhibits related to World War II. The history of the Holocaust is no exception and this place was definitely on my to-do list when I visited Houston. I was not disappointed by this museum.

This is a hidden gem that I was not aware of. Modern art and a wide range of collectibles. Worth the trip as it is exhibited in a spacious building allowing for very unusual pieces .
