The upcoming The Batman spinoff series The Penguin has added Shazam! star Mark Strong to its ensemble.
A lot of fans have been looking forward to the upcoming Max series as it will focus on Colin Farrell's fan-favorite villain Oswald Cobbeplot and explore the criminal underworld of Gotham City.

Mark Strong Joins The Penguin Spinoff Series
Strong's casting in The Penguin was seemingly confirmed by his personal trainer Giacamo Farci in a now-edited Instagram post.
Farci responded to the fan comments who asked about Strong's involvement in the spinoff series. "Yes, I've trained Mark for it," he wrote.
He also replied to another fan comment that asked about the actor's role in the series, "I cannot answer this question but I'm sure you will figure it out."
While we don't have any details regarding Strong's role in the series, we can safely say that he won't be reprising his Shazam! character Dr. Thaddeus Sivana since it is not part of the same universe.
However, since his confirmation of Strong's casting in the series has made some rounds online, the comments have been deleted and the post was edited to remove any traces.
Max and DC Studios have also not commented on Farci's confirmation of Strong's casting in The Penguin.
While we don't have the details yet on Strong's role in the series, it is exciting to see that he is going to be involved in the spinoff since he is a talented actor as proven by his past roles.
It also opens up a question of whether he will be playing a familiar character from the comics and if it would lead to an appearance in the sequel, which is still in the works.
For now, fans should anticipate more news and updates regarding the series in the months leading up to the series premiere.
The Penguin is scheduled for release on Max this fall.
