‘Castle’ Star Susan Sullivan Announces She’s ‘Cancer Free’ After Being Diagnosed With Lung Cancer
The actress thanked her family and friends for being supportive of her journey after sharing a picture of herself earlier this week in the hospital
Actress Susan Sullivan is cancer free after revealing she had been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The Castle and Dharma & Greg alum announced the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
"Wanted to share with all those friends who have made this journey with me and that's you! I am cancer free!" she wrote. "You can't do this one alone. Takes a family of friends and if you're really lucky a good man thank you, Connell!!! Love you."
Sullivan, who has been with her longtime partner, psychologist Connell Cowan, for more than two decades, concerned fans on Monday when she posted a picture of herself in the hospital.
"Life's surprising little turns try to be ready for them with humor and hope," she wrote. "On we go."
Sullivan revealed the lung cancer diagnosis the following day.
"Thanks for all the lovely comments and concerns. I had lung cancer," she wrote. "The surgery was successful. The healing process is a struggle, Thanks glad you're out there! #friends."
With the news that she is in the clear, many of Sullivan's friends voiced their support, including her Kominsky Method co-star Sarah Baker.
"Wonderful to hear," Baker wrote. "Sending you love, dear Susan!"
In addition to her notable roles on Castle and Dharma & Greg, Sullivan earned an Emmy nomination in 1978 for her work on Julie Farr, M.D. and appeared as Lenore Curtin Delaney on 221 episodes of the soap opera Another World.
