In the South Park special “The Streaming Wars,” (part one and two) the storyline revolves around a severe drought in South Park and the profitable idea of streaming water from higher elevations. The plan starts successfully but becomes overcrowded by corporate competition, resembling the streaming service market.

Meanwhile, Cartman seeks a way to improve his living situation by convincing his mother to get breast implants to attract a wealthy neighbor. The special cleverly reflects the saturation of streaming services and hints at real-world water infrastructure issues.

Notable aspects include improved animation quality and creative music choices, such as using Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” in a humorous montage and recontextualizing Bill Withers’ “Use Me” for a surprising ending.
