I really like Queens College. It wasn’t my first choice, in fact it was one of my last choices, but I’m glad I decided to go to Queens College. I’ve met so many hardworking students, and most of the professors are super helpful.
The campus gave me the best senior year ever. I had numerous opportunities and networks. I wish Covid hadn't put a pin in it because I know i coulve done much more! I was able to learn about all the things a proper campus has to offer! Loved it! make the best of what you have and make sure to use your resources
Queens College is a great place for diversity, to learn beyond the classroom walls. I had the immense pleasure to attend it during my undergraduate years. All I can really say about the school's aesthetic, is that some of the buildings need to be improved, otherwise it's a pretty unique place.
I've had nothing but excellent experiences at CUNY Queens College. There is always something fascinating to do on this lively and diverse campus. The instructors are really helpful, and the food is of the highest quality. I would give the campus a perfect 10/10 because of its welcoming mindset, which makes it feel like a second home. There are numerous options available.
I would like more diversity amongst the students and also more organization from the president. He does not necessarily ensure the safety of teachers and students on campus.
I enjoyed the diversity of the students and professors on campus. It was a welcoming community and it made it enjoyable to learn in this kind of environment. I also enjoyed the beautiful campus. I felt very relaxed and at home.
Overall, Queens College is a very diverse community. However, sometimes it feels that particular communities are targeted. Academic-wise, the college is okay. It mostly depends on who your professor is so be sure to check the rate my professor before you take a class to know what you are getting into. Overall, the college is okay
Queens College is much like the other CUNY colleges in that it is what you make of it. Consider your goals and if Queens College will get you there, you should apply for it.
Queens College is a great school, with many great opportunities for students in terms of education. The math department can use a lot of work. Many students complain that the professors in the math department are bad, having little skills in making sure the students actually understand the work that they are teaching. The math professors are also in a shortage, so you are forced to take other sections of math with the same terrible professors .
Queens College is a good school for academics,if you’re looking for a party scene or a sporting event school or school spirit in general this might not be the number one option. The campus however is beautiful and so is the library.
I would like to see CUNY being more considerate towards all groups of students. There should still be online options available.
I would like to see better support for any students passionate about their field, There are a lot of standards people have for colleges and I can say that QC is a great college. That being said it is a far travel for me to give an estimate of 30 minute train to bus delays and traveling back. It is hard as a student to believe that you are able to compete with higher colleges such as Harvard and Yale so, I want to see an encouragement for students such as me, a first gen american, to be reassure that they can make these opportunities happen.
Overall, it's a decent school. Academically, it was inconsistent; some classes were extremely difficult, and others were on an elementary school level. In terms of student life - there's really not much going on, but if you're going to a CUNY, that's not something that you are necessarily looking for.
My experience at Queens College was overall a positive one. Many professors at the school are passionate and helpful. The school offers many options for in-person and online courses and has many majors available. Queens College is located in one of the most diverse places in the US, which adds richness to the school.
Queens College has an amazing campus. You can also see views of the city from campus and it gives a very cozy experience.
Starting my journey at CUNY Queens College, I was immediately struck by the engaging academic atmosphere, notably my first semester with Professor Figel, an English professor whose passion and dedication to teaching were truly inspirational. This initial experience set the tone for my time at the college, where each day was made significantly more enjoyable thanks to the camaraderie and fun I shared with friends. The classes were smooth and intellectually stimulating, allowing me to immerse myself in learning while enjoying the freedom and high-quality education provided. Queens College has been more than just a place of study; it's been a vibrant community where I've grown academically and personally.
I enjoyed the clubs at Queens College. There’s a wide range of clubs that allowed us to meet other students and interact more. These clubs create a sense of community. Something I dislike are the teaching methods of certain professors. I feel like I don’t learn unless I study on my own through videos and tutoring. I wish there were professors who focus on helping students through helpful guides and resources.
The cost of cuny trumps any experience. While I felt teachers cared more about ne in other schools, CUNY is my number one choice for schooling
My experience at QC has been interesting the professors are great and I made good connections and the campus is beautiful!!
The way this place handled covid was a joke. Requiring the vaccine, random covid tests (on campus only) and if you did not get vaccinated you would have to pray that the school would accept your religious exemption. I waited almost 4 months for an approval on my religious exemption and during that time I was not allowed on campus, no exemptions. That semester 4 of the courses I paid for were moved to online and not one of the professors let me do online work. I ended up failing 3 of the classes because I was not allowed on campus until mid November. Then when I was allowed on campus, I was required to get tested every 3 days and it had to be at the one on campus testing center that usually had a 1.5 hour wait time. I waited once and when I finally got to the front they said they would not take me because they could not verify my email because I had two as I once was enrolled at Baruch (another CUNY). I wish I had more words to use to explain why no one should attend this college.
