The B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale Beach offers a prime location with coveted beach access and a lively atmosphere that many guests enjoy. However, opinions on service and amenities are mixed, with some travelers praising staff attentiveness and others frustrated by extra costs and limited seating. While the vibrant beachfront scene is a highlight, concerns about noise, inconsistent cleanliness, and outdated rooms are noted. Additionally, hidden fees, such as resort and parking charges, have led some guests to question the overall value of their stay.

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend to celebrate his birthday and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived at 7:00 p.m. and were promptly checked in to our Room. Since we did not rent a car it was an inexpensive Lyft ride from the airport for less than $10 however they do have parking on site for a fee. The location is perfect as it is within walking distance to many restaurants and shops plus they offer free bicycle rentals. The beach was very clean and well maintained as was the pool area. The complimentary chairs and umbrellas were phenomenal and beach towels were always available. They have multiple restaurants on site with a variety of menu options. We enjoyed the key lime pie one evening for dessert and had brunch on Sunday morning at the naked crab and it was delicious. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms well maintained. We were in Room 1706 which was right in the middle of the hotel on the top floor and had an absolutely breathtaking view of the ocean. They did have complimentary Wi-Fi, Keurig coffee station and refrigerator in each room, 2 pools, and a private well maintained beach which was very nice! The entire staff was absolutely a delight and every one we saw how to smile on their face and any questions we had they quickly assisted us. We were even able to adopt Shell B and take her home for a small fee. Would absolutely recommend this resort as it was a great location, great service, a delightful staff, and comfortable accommodations!

Perfect location to walk to many restaurants and right near the busy part of the beach. They have their own private beach that is very well organized and worth the amenities fee you need to pay daily. Pool is really nice and Andres (Pool Attendant) is super attentive and helpful. Many umbrellas for both the pool and the beach. Food at the pool is also terrific. While our room was mediocre, it was clean and our house keeping was very good throughout our stay. The only negative about the room was the windows were filthy on the outside so it deterred from our great view of the marina and the ocean. Check in took a long time and they were not the greatest first impression of the hotel but other than that I would recommend the hotel.

We had a young man around the age of 21 named Veral! He was awesome! He was knowledgeable
And hard working. He wasn’t slacking off like the other suitors and he was very sweet. He deserves a raise or some kind of acknowledging because he was very attentive to every cabana and umbrella

We booked rooms with king beds and when we arrived were given room with 2 beds that they claimed were queen size but are questionable full size at best. House keeping is sub-par. I noticed sheets were not being changed and we never got wash clothes replenished.

We are currently still checked in at the B Ocean Resort but we realized almost immediately that it wasn't the right choice for us.

Cons:
In general the entire hotel looks worn and uninviting.
Our room wasn’t ready until after 5 for check in. We had a “stunning” ocean view- there is NOTHING stunning about it. We overlook a dirty roof and public volleyball courts about 2000 yards from the ocean.
The water in every toilet in the hotel is always yellow. The sink water is the same. I know this because the sink has drainage issues so I can see the yellow water pooled in the basin every time I use the sink. The toilet paper holder is falling off the wall.
We called 3 times today when we noticed housekeeping still hadn’t come to the room by 3pm. Each time we were assured they would be sent to our room, but they never came.
The laundry room is across from our room and we constantly hear the double doors opening and closing. There is usually a giant towel bin sitting right outside our door as well.
We went to the lobby bar and Wreck Bar- bartenders are generally inattentive and unfriendly. Pool drinks are 15 dollars each and small.
Food is average at best.
Location in general isn’t great- nothing walkable. Uber everywhere you want to go.

Pros:
Bed was comfortable
Tv was decent
Good coffee counter in the lobby
Aveda toiletries
Close to airport
Hotel bathrooms are clean but look worn

Unfortunately customer service is not a priority at B Ocean Resort, but I do want to give a shout out to Corey at the pool. He took great care of us for lunch.

We have stayed at the following places in Fort Lauderdale: Hilton, Pelican Grand, and the Ritz Carlton. All are far superior as far as overall hotel experience and location.

I am a firm believer in the fact that if you can’t have fun on vacation, that’s on you. That being said, the B Ocean has a really great beach location & pretty sweet pool setup, but overall I don’t think we’d return. You’re really paying for the location, I suppose.... but we paid $95/night to upgrade to an ocean view room that was 100% not worth it. You could see the ocean, but there was no balcony & the windows were so dirty that it was more like you could tell that the ocean was out there but “ocean view” is kind of a stretch. It also was extremely pricey to eat & drink there, which I guess is to be expected, but $10 for a virgin piña colada seems a bit excessive when the regular piña colada is $12. I will say also that the service was not phenomenal..... it didn’t really seem like anyone had any idea what was going on. The waiters at the pool and breakfast were really slow & didn’t seem to have any clue what to do. One waiter came by and took our breakfast vouchers, then 10 min came back asking where our vouchers were to pay for breakfast. I mentioned that he already took them and he just looked extremely confused and walked away. Overall, the hotel was a little disappointing, but if you’re just looking for a good beach location and a nice pool, it will fulfill your need.

We had a room in the "Clipper" building - which is the main building where the front desk is located. Our room (#1227) didn't face the ocean and was accessible from one of the outdoor hallways. Surprisingly, all the outdoor hallways in this building have at least 50% of the hallway lights burned out, so these exterior hallways were pretty dark at night. These same hallways need a good power washing and repainting as well! I was kind of surprised that the hotel hasn't made an effort on these areas to keep them as nice as the rest of the hotel. The lobby is very pretty, clean and modern. The pool area and bathrooms were nice and clean as well. Our room was modern and clean. We were only given 2 towels and 1 wash cloth and 1 bar of soap (no soap for sink). The sink didn't drain well at all. We complained on the first day and it never got fixed so they knocked off 1 day worth of resort fees ($30) from our final bill when we checked out. The room safe wasn't functional (batteries were dead?) and it wasn't even bolted down to anything, just sitting on the top shelf of the closet! I complained at checkout about this too and they knocked off another $3.90 from the resort fee hahaha! Yes, $3.90. Someone could literally just pick it up and walk away with it. Our king sized bed had a queen fitted sheet on it. Luckily a maid cart was at the end of the hallway so I snagged a king sheet and swapped it out....also grabbed some extra towels and a couple wash cloths. Stopped by front desk for a couple extra bars of soap too. Yes, the nightly rate is reasonable, but tack on at least $30/day resort fee when you check in (I think the fee fluctuates depending what website you use to book). Plus if you drive, self parking and valet are both about $45 a day!!!! So, what was once a fairly reasonably priced hotel, is now getting expensive.

Your resort fee does pay for 2 beach towels and 2 beach lounge chairs per hotel room. The cabana guys make this big deal when you show up to the beach about giving you the towels and leading you to the chairs of your choice. I think it’s all to start up a rapport with you so you use them to order drinks and food versus going up to the pool bar to order. I brought a soft cooler in my suitcase, walked 10 min down the road to the 7Eleven and bought a case of my own beer. There are ice machines in various places to get ice. The beers at the pool start out at $9 (i think) each.

My only complaint about the beach is the trash. There is a good bit of straws, bottle caps, cigarette/cigar butts, drink lids, and various other trash that could be picked up by a more caring cabana crew on their “private beach” if they weren’t so busy with chatting up guests and texting on their phones.

Arrived and the lobby is bright, clean & updated. Greeted by front desk staff. When I checked in, they asked for my credit card for incidentals. When I checked out they charged me a $40/night resort fee. None of this was mentioned at the time of check in. My room was prepaid because I booked on TripAdvisorPlus. Very disappointed. Room was dirty, bathroom tile full of mildew. Sliding glass door to balcony would not lock. Room did not look like pictures online. 1/2 the time we went to the "2nd pool" which was in the center of the rooms (not beach pool) there were no towels available and staff was rude and no responsive. The tile around pool was filthy and never power washed - lots of bird feces. I would never give this hotel a 4.5 rating. Also, when you purchase drinks or in restaurant, they add gratuity to the check but do not make you aware verbally or via signage. Line was very slow in the coffee bar. Had 3 people working and still couldn't get it right. the one Blonde that was working was good but she was a 1 person show. The other 2 that would occasionally help her were not efficient. super disappointed that when I booked on Trip Advisor Plus when I checked out there was no warning about Resort Fee. It said my trip was paid in full. This hotel was so poorly managed with so much potential because of their location! If you are at all worried about contacting Covid, do not book this hotel. The Pool beach appeared to be cleaned, but the 2nd pool never once. Employees would hide behind the rolling carts in the corner that housed clean sheets & towels.

UPSET. MY Boyfriend and I checked in on friday night. we were very exicted to experience the resort for the first time. Upon checking In the valet was very helpful, when we checked in the front desk receptionist was also very helpful. Thats when we was informed of price for the self parking and deposit which we was ok with due to it will be return upon checking out. Once we arrived in the room I was personally a little disappointed because I expected more. The next day we left for day and we arrived exhausted and tired to find that our room has not been cleaned nor clean towels or sheets has not been left. I went down stairs to informed the front desk receptionist of what happen and she did accomodate us for with another room which we was very pleased with. Confusing The day of check out we informed the male front desk receptionist we are checking out and what is the process of funds being placed back in the account he informed, us it will be seven to ten business days and the self parking will be taking out of the deposit. Not even a two hours later I checked my banking account and seen that two withdrawals has been taken from my account. I contacted the resort front desk and informed him of the situation he looked up the room and stated that I had a balance of self parking fee and resort fee, in the which I was unware of when checking out. We are very displeased due to we were misled on the fees. I informed my boyfriend that we will NEVER step foot back in that resort due to misleading information and the underhanded and sneaky things that going on.

Stayed here one night before joining cruise ship.
Large comfortable room with beach view. Bathroom was good with nice amenities.
We were given a free breakfast which was enjoyable. Not a huge selection but more than enough.
No airport of cruise ship shuttle but Concierge had private shuttles running to cruise port for U$8 pp.
Taxi from airport to hotel cost U$20 due to airport surcharge.
Could walk up to restaurants in 20-25 mins along beach which was enjoyable. We ate at Bubba Gumps.
Bus stop is right outside hotel. We were going to go to the Galleria Mall but as it was so cold and we were not dressed for it, after 25 mins we gave up. Bus came along right as we walked into hotel.
Bellhops at valet station were not knowledgeable about public transport.
We had paid for room prior to leaving Australia and on checkout our bill had a US$30.00 + taxes charge for resort amenity usage.
As we never used these due to staying one night, I found this unfair and queried it.
Everyone has to pay it apparently, so on that note we will choose another hotel the next time we are in Fort Lauderdale.

If I remember correctly, the hotel's private beach does not have a lifeguard, but the public beach just north of there does. The Ft Lauderdale government website contains information about the location of lifeguard stands. (Sorry, TripAdvisor prohibits my posting that link here.)

There was no security deposit. Re resort fee: we only stayed one night; I’d assume it’s a flat rate per day.
