Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Kate B22 contributionsWe visited Bank Holiday Monday with our two daughters. This is an amazing place to visit.Plenty to do and see.Great outdoor and indoor play areas. The girls loved feeding the animals. We ate at the indoor play area and the food was great The staff were friendly and helpful and very accommodating especially in the restaurant at the soft play.We watched the sheep and ferret racing and enjoyed the tractor ride. The whole place is spotlessly clean, well run and very organised. We enjoyed watching Dave sheer the sheep too.A great day out and we will be back soon bringing friends.Written 29 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gemma CookBarnsley, UK11 contributionsHow was it the first time I’ve been here? What a place? Our little toddler loved it. So many places to walk and explore. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side we still loved it. The cafe was great to start our morning with breakfast before we began our adventure. We will definitely be back. I’ve lived nearby since I was 9 years old and at 31 have only just visited.Written 7 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John GWorksop, UK29 contributionsWe discovered by chance the exhibition of the illustrations and life story of local lad Brian Wildsmith who became a world class children’s book illustrator and author. Beautiful joyful work. More of his work is displayed down the road in the Cooper Gallery. Both highly recommended.Written 2 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Martin SBarnsley, UK36 contributionsJust watched Grimethorpe with Love at the Lamproom Theatre , brilliantly funny, brilliantly rude, brilliantly poignant and the cast were brilliant too. - Claire912West Yorkshire, UK19 contributionsCheap entry, range of animals, play areas and plenty to amuse the children. We took a 5 year old and a one and half year old. There are ample picnic tables, hamdwash areas, indoor food area. And we didnt get muddy! It's a great afternoon out for the little ones especially if the weather permits as it did today. It was worth the half hour drive. Only advisory is to the staff to perhaps regularly check and empty the baby change bin/ disabled toilet as it was rather badly smelling. That aside, I will likely visit again over summer.Written 29 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ALISON HHarrogate, UK685 contributionsMuch extended from when I remember it . There's a good mix of classic and modern art plus two excellent eateries , a cafe with a limited number of hot dishes for a light lunch , and a more sophisticated restaurant , small so pre-booking advised , in addition .Written 11 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - James MNottingham, UK513 contributions2nd visit.
It's about 1h 50 for us to get here and myself and my young boys (currently 2, 5years) are constantly looking for waterpark adventures.
Price. Fair for what you get comparatively to other ones we've visit. The bonus is the FREE parking which others rarely offer.
I opted for the first session of a school holiday Tuesday (10am). This time slot has the added bonus of a clean, dry changing (in and out) and if you are quick - 30mins of fast access to the flumes with little queues. By 10:45 - the wave pool is rammed and 4/5min queue for three main flumes.
Facilities. Excellent. I have a 5year old, water confident strong swimmer (for his age). Other than the red slide and diving boards - nothing was restricted. So he was loving the green and black slides and we crammed in around 10 back-to-back slides before the rush. Wave pool is frequent and the added bonus of the small pirate ship, rainbow slides and a swimming pool - plenty to keep him amused. Water temperature was good. No complaints.
I couldn't comment on later slots, but I can imagine the facilities takes a pounding!
I've visited colder, more expensive, more dirty with less facilities. Honestly... This was great but I can see how a later visit may absolutely be a different experience.Written 2 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
