Thanks for the mental image of Tony sharpening his elbows on one of those rotating stone wheel things that blacksmiths used to sharpen swords
Tony's actually joked about sharpening his elbows on a grindstone before.
At least I think he was joking. It's Tony so you can't really tell.
No he actually does it LMAO. He takes a percussion messager and grinds it on hia elbows and shins
God bless Tony Ferguson
So that's called a grindstone my dude
Thanks, thats the word I was after lol
Sharpening those elbows on a wet stone
I assume you mean whetstone, but I can just as easily imagine Tony sharpening his elbows on a damp rock. He’s weird.
that would be a hell of a clip for some ufc trailer. Tony putting his elbow on some slowly rotating wet stone)))

LOL this dude is actually crazy.
Him and Gaethje are the last guys I would want to fight.
The only way you can stop them is by knocking them out or else you're going to get your face legit rearranged.
You just made me realise how insane Gaethje vs Tony would be! Violent pressure fighter vs violent pressure fighter
Tony already said he doesn't give a shit who the ufc puts in front of him so I got a feeling that since khabib and Dustin are booked, we'll see Gaethje vs Tony around August or September with the winners facing off in December

Didn't he actually put out a video where he was using one of those on his shins?

I'm not surprised motherfuckers
is this guy actually sharpening his fucking legs?
Calcifying his elbows and shins for bone growth?
Thats a one of those therapy massagers
And sounds like my ex’s personal massager
hahaha fuck, it wouldn't surprise me if he did
I’m almost worried they’d make a rule to prevent this, though I’m not confident they could.

Damn there's an anime about Tony? Nice.
Eru Cucuryu
that one coming out of the top of his wrist seems really impractical unless it's for shaving or something
It has the potential to turn defense into deadly offense
Pancrase rules, palm strikes only my man.
Aw yeah Baki. If you love martial arts you’ll love this anime. If you’re curious, just watch this video

I just can't get past the art style and the story seems lacking. Like the boulder (or cave?) episode was were I stopped.

Oooooooooh well that makes sense
He said he asked his doctor once if there was any way to sharpen his elbows.

X Ears
Sharpie elbowed looking motherfucker.

Imagine not being told who you're fighting but just being given the images of your opponents previous wins
Can we just start doing that for posters?
Maia's opponents looking salon-quality
BJ is just all his opponents’ hands raised lol
As a long time fan, it sorta bothers me that it has come to this, and I now laugh at these jokes.
Last weekend Dana said he wasn't gonna put BJ in a fight anymore... But it's Dana so take it with a grain of salt.

How much toughness did Josh Thomson show in that fight though?
He was FUCKED UP and he just kept coming.
beep boop
thompson definitely slept on in looks. up there with prime stupid sexy rockhold
Top middle looks like Eddie Bravo
Look into it
snapintuit
There’s an alternate universe where Thomson wins all the close ass decisions he lost and is the 155lb GOAT
Unbelievably talented fighter, injuries and his fucking passive ass style killed him from a long term legacy standpoint. He honestly should be a top 3 ever at the very least in the division. Always hated how he fought, drove me nuts
If fighter fight better he win fight
I mean yeah lol you right. He didn’t so he lost
But this ones a little different, without changing anything you could actually argue Thomson won pretty much every one of his decision losses if you really wanted to outside like the Kawajiri and probably the Tony fight(I don’t really remember it all that well).
Thomson was seriously talented
On that note, cue the Yves KO gif.
yeah when he fought benson i knew it was gonna be a cosmic split decision for the ages
The splitest decision of all times
Agreed, dude beat the shit out of Nate Diaz, a guy who beat cowboy and Conor McGregor, two huge names in the division
There’s an argument he beat Bendo and Gil when Bendo was #1 and Gil #2 or #3 at worst.
He was in so many good fights with amazing fighters and was never outclassed. I just fucking HATED his style lol I really feel like it cost him wins, so defensive and so passive.
Didn't Tony say he purposely prolonged the fight because Josh got in his face at the weigh in? 😂
He still says that. Said he was gonna try to stop cowboy early cause there was respect between them lol
Imagine being in a cage with a dude who thinks rebooting your brain is the nicest thing he could do to you.
Well he probably would have submitted him for even more niceness if possible haha.
Coming from Tony, i'd say an early end is a blessing.
If Tony and Khabib wind up fighting, even if Khabib wins decidedly, it'll be the first time he really bleeds in the Octagon.

Tony: You bleed like Kevin Lee. Kevin Lee gooood fuck!
Khabib: Noooooooooo!!!!
Beautiful champ!
Khabib: All that for a drop of blood
I could see Khabib in half guard getting the top of his head opened up.
"All that for a drop of blood?"

Quick lookout kha....ankle pick!!!!
How poetic would that be?! We wait years for this matchup then it's over in less than 5 minutes because of a ridiculous cut.
You stop right there, sir
DELETE THIS NEPHEW...
how absolutely dare you
Have a downvote.
Maybe. Khabib secures position too much and he top game doesn't really lend itself to elbows. He postures up a lot.

The only time I've seen him with cuts and bruises was a week before the fight after his last day of camp when he was giving interviews to Olivi and Okamoto.
Someone seriously landed shots on him in training camp, but perhaps we'll never know who that was. But during the Conor fight, not a scratch on his face.
Oh yeah... I remember that. I also remember reading about something involving a seizure/stroke before the fight or weighin. Regarding Khabib
Apparently that was just a mis-translation from Russian and they just meant he had muscle spasms, I read this from a reddit comment though so who knows how accurate it is
Haha same here, sounds reasonable thou
What about that time Michael Johnson nearly took his head off?
Conor didn't even give him a bloody lip?
Conor left scratch marks around Khabibs thighs and wrists though
Conor can you point on the doll
And hips from trying to grab his shorts
Blades X Shades one will fuck your knee and one will cut you up
I can't wait for post fight.
"Sure he destroyed Tony, but he's still nothing until he beats Evan Dunham".
Lmao it would this but with Gaethje. Then with Kevin Lee somehow. Then back to Conor. If he got this far in defenses of course
It's already happened. For the first half of his career, people whined that he wasn't facing any strikers and that the first one one he did would beat him. It's why so many people picked MJ. Now, all of a sudden, he's only facing strikers, and the first guy with decent TD defense is gonna beat him.
It’s obnoxious, but I will say that Tony is the one guy who gives me pause. I didn’t think Conor or anyone else stood a chance, and I’d still bet on khabib if I had to pick, but Tony is such a unique challenge it could really go either way.
It will get to the point where people will bitch and moan for Khabib to fight people way bigger than him so they can finally see him lose.
Beats Dustin "Great, he beat another featherweight, wait til Tony gets his hands on him. HLMIW!"
Beats Tony "Tony's been through a lot these past couple of years, if they fought three years ago it would've gone differently! Anyway, Khabib ain't shit until he beats a tough wrestler like Gaethje!"
Beats Gaethje "Why did Gaethje keep letting Khabib take him down? He should've used his TOP TIER wrestling more, bad game plan. Anyway, Conor really looks determined this time. He says he's been really working on his TDD!"
But seriously, I think the final knock on Khabib from his detractors if he never ends up losing will be that he never moved up in weight to try and capture a second title (I think the only way he ever moves up is if it's for a GSP superfight). Which is totally fine with me, there's no shame in simply going down as the greatest lightweight of all time if he retires undefeated.
Beats GSP "Meh GSP is like 74 yo and it wasn't his natural weight class anyways, he obviously looked depleted"
