I love how the teachers care about us. Whenever me or a classmate is in doubt about their academic capabilities, our teachers are always there to get us back on track. Also, we have a great campus ministry! Father Dave is a very welcoming, joyful, and funny person to be around. The workload is never too much, but it is just enough to make sure that you understand your materials and that you are ready for your tests. The school offers GREAT resources like the guidance department, the library, and the weight room. The support that you get from your teachers and peers is ginormous, and I think that matters the most. We have a great athletic program and arts program as well. No matter where you want to go in life, St. John’s will support you and provide you with what you need.
This is my first year working for SJB. I have had previous leave replacement and part-time positions in public and other Catholic schools. SJB as been the best I've worked at. The faculty and staff are welcoming and supportive. I've made a lot of great connections here and feel involved. The students are also hard-working and kind and there is a lot of school spirit among them. They have great opportunities from the class electives, after school clubs, and the athletics they can participate in. Overall, I am really enjoying my experience here as a faculty member. I'm so glad I can be part of such a great community!
I have been connected to St. John's for over 27 years! I am a Teacher, a Coach and a parent. I love working at St. John's! I commute over 135 miles daily to be part of the SJB community, and it is definitely worth it.
My wife and I have sent our 7 children to St. John's, our oldest graduated in '04 and our youngest is graduating this year, '24. Everyone of them have been very prepared for college, have received generous scholarships, and some of them finished undergrad in 3 years thanks to the AP and college courses. St. John's gave them the foundation to become: A Physician Assistant; A Occupational Therapist; An Nuclear Engineer; A Veterinarian; A Teacher (2) and the youngest will be studying Nursing come the Fall of '24. So yes, we love St. John's.
As a teacher, I have had the pleasure of teaching students from many countries and many faiths.
As a Sailing Coach, I have had the pleasure of having students on the team from: China, Korea, Taiwan, and Germany. SJB is home!
