What travellers are saying
- Sharron B66 contributionsSuch a stunning cathedral that stands high in the skyline . Almost majestic, it’s a shame it’s costly to get in but that’s the churches decision. Well worth a visitWritten June 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LG0417London, UK2 contributionsWe booked a castle tour which turned out to be a fab idea. We had the amazing Ann as our tour guide. She was great with the kids (boys 12 & 9) holding their interest and involving them in her amazing stories about the history of Lincoln Castle. There was humour in her tour too which made it feel less formal. Ann your an amazing volunteer and great company. Thank you for making the family from West Sussex enjoy their time at the castle.Written June 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Prices are acceptable in these tough times

The tour was given by Colin Hill he was so good and had a great knowledge of the Guildhall.
Thanks for the visitWritten May 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Old_Yorkshiremanyorkshire15 contributionsIt was raining when we arrived, so a visit indoors was the obvious start.
The welcome staff did just that. The unprepossessing entrance gives into one end of a hall, and we were made welcome with the sensation of visiting, say, an elderly relative for the first time. We didn't know each other, yet, but were nevertheless pleased to see each other.
The audio tour was explained, a little of the background to the Hall and ownership given and we were given free rein to wander around. My query about the table was answered fully and completely, and led to more explanation about carvings, which had a distinctly Gibbons-esque quality from a distance, but were made by a former owner.
The table, it turned out, was recent, and from a single fallen oak, yielding a one piece top around 6 metres in length. The whole with cunning breadboard ends and pleasantly chunky underframe on turned pillars.
The rest of the Hall is full of interest, and made the more so by the audio introduction to each room being made by the owners Claire and James, with their comments and reminiscences 'We used to roller skate in this room' lends a very human level of appreciation totally missing from many similar locations. Knowledgable and approachable room stewards who were happy to explain and discuss details.
The rain stopped, we toured the exceptionally soggy formal gardens, which are really worth another visit when the season has moved on and the plantings are flourishing.Written May 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Views over the fishing lakes are lovely and the cafe/restaurant is very good.
The only negative we had was the internet access. A company called Guerilla ict run the Wi-Fi system which we had a problem with. Unfortunately they did not answer our calls or respond to our voice messages and emails.Written June 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This museum is free entry after all, so not sure what some of the negative reviewers were hoping for - we found it to be excellent. There were lots of happy little children enjoying the activities. We spent a good 2 hours there including a reasonably priced soup, sausage roll and baguette lunch. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful- just what you need! Toilets were spotless. There was a Jason Wilsher-Mills exhibition which was great fun. Well stocked gift shop and a play area for the littluns'. A great visit and a lovely, modern building, a short walk from the castle and cathedral.Written April 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cannew5542 contributionsLovely day out at Rand Farm. Animal food was available and children really enjoyed feeding the cows, sheep and goats. If you timed it right you could also stroke the guinea pigs and rabbits, feed the lambs and hold a chick. All the animals looked in good condition and well looked after. Went on Mother's Day weekend and Mums were given a free plant which was a nice touch. Great place for children to get close to farm animals in a safe environment.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - P TWakefield, UK4 contributionsSmall museum with two WW2 buildings and a hanger housing a Dakota plane. Learnt a lot about the role of bombers and the crew roles.
Really friendly staff and guides, and an enjoyable coffee in the cafe.
Especially liked being to sit in the Dakota pilot seat, the Lancaster bomber parts, learning about the men who flew them, and the ground crew. Had a minor role in the dambusters as well....
Do check the opening times as it is on private land and I accessable outside opening times.Written May 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Parking isn't the best however and the facilities are sadly lacking. But to just get out there and stretch your legs, you can't go far wrong.Written March 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
