When I read this DVD was available and read the only review from Fred Cooper on Amazon I knew I had to check this out. It's a good time for Sixties culture buffs or for the curious because this is about as good of a Sixties documentary or culture lesson you could have. Includes various clips or full songs from concerts and TV shows, along with interviews with Sky Saxon from the last decade or two and from back in the day. Has some clips from television shows and movies which had their music in the background or part of the scene, including a long clip from the 1960s nugget campy TV show, "The Mothers-In-Law". It does get less interesting as it goes on and does go off on politics at times, but I can't say I disagree with Sky's observations.

Unfortunately the video and sound quality varies from good to just plain awful. Some of the earlier vintage clips would have been much funner if it wasn't 3rd generation bootleg quality. Sky Saxon looks like an alien sometimes as his face is so blurry and distorted, it's almost acid-like to watch it in morphed video (not necessarily good). Most of the early footage is lip-syncs or videos but you do get all the songs you would need like "Pushin", "Mr. Farmer", and "Can't Seem To Make You Mine". Too bad you hear "Pushin" a bit more than you might want/need.

But if you want a reasonably quick ride through the Sixties, as limited in talent as The Seeds were, they had a charming way about them, for sure. Worth a look.

I know it is amateurish and grainy. Yes, it looks like a bootleg. I don't care. It is a shear pleasure to have these vintage clips of the Seeds and Sky. I just wish some audio of the band in the 60's survived to go with the vid. If you love garage-psychedelia, this DVD is a must for your collection.
